Front Fog Lights

Ahh the annual fog light thread. Mentioned it before but 'Asians' around Luton are now fitting HID to their fogs. I cannot remember the last time I used front fog lights, as even in foggy conditions do naff all.

Loads of people on the BMW sites are fitting HID fogs. I mean.. what?

It's because the reputation of BMW drivers blasting down the outside lane with fogs blazing has been tarnished by certain other German car drivers. Fitting HID kits to the fogs is clearly an attempt to get BMW back to the no.1 **** spot.

I replaced my fogs due to cracked lenses in the summer, didn't actually bother getting any new bulbs for them though lol.

The Octavia is rubbish for this. I can drive all day long with my front fogs on without filling other motorists with rage because they are mounted in the headlights rather than on the bumper so no one notices :(

The biggest piece of euro bull**** ever to be imposed, then withdrawn.

My Volvo 940 was set up like this too.

Never heard of fog lights in the headlights before, i thought the whole purpose of front fogs was to be low to the ground to avoid light scatter?

In this pic, the car is on main beam with fogs off (the fogs are the darker grey bits of the lens)

They still do. They are seperate projector units that put out a flat low level of light as normal bumper mounted fogs would... Well thats what I've found by shining them at the garage door :D

Edit- Pic of the seperate projectors on mine-

I'll have to admit, I resorted to using my fog lights tonight, in non-foggy conditions. In my defence, one of my dipped beam stopped working as I was leaving from work and, being the GENIUS i am, i had left the spare bulb set at home. Clever eh!?! :p
