FTL - Faster than Light, Space Rogue - ( INDIE )

Does anyone know of a way to remove individual high scores from the leaderboard? I have a score of ~12000 from when i was playing the infinite space mod that is sitting at the top of my table which is almost certainly impossible to beat.

As for the update i've only done the one run. I tried hard mode and got to sector 5 with a woefully underpowered Kestrel Cruiser (layout A). I was doing pretty badly by the end of sector 4 due to a pulser that only seemed to take the weapons, shields and engines down, but i was completely screwed in sector 5 when a ship with three shields found me without missiles, without fuel and with only three health remaining. My only other weapon was a burst laser II so i couldn't even get through his shield :(

Obviously i haven't got to the boss yet with the update, but hopefully the update removes its one gigantic weakness of teleporting people over to attack and disable its weapons and then using a lvl 1 cloak to get past its super weapons. With that strategy I actually found the boss easier than some of the late game normal enemies :p

Has anyone else had a problem with defence drone MKIIs doing absolutely nothing (at least to asteroids). it was wandering around my ship as it should, but it wasnt shooting anything down despite being properly powered.

I've tried the new ship with the new race.

Helpful with fighting fires and boarders as they drain the O2 very quickly. Can damage your own crew though.

My missus is a fan on her Mac and is even happier she can play on her Ipad too. Just need an Android version now (Engi?)
Fantastic update for an incredible game

The end boss layout has changed to integrate some of the weapons structures into the main area of the ship so simply teleporting doesn't work right well any more. It's also got added subsystems which can really knacker your chances though I've managed it once with the Basilisk.

Loving the new DLC. Failed at the 3rd iteration of the flagship on my first run through on a brand new profile. Now I'm gonna just grind out all the ship unlocks again. So much fun.

Beating the mothership is an awesome feeling! I've managed to get to the second stage a few times but was ill prepared for the drones. Found the 'anti drone' drone to be vital at that point with the last play through.

Just a case of unlocking all the ships now.

Thanks for that. I happened to pass a shop which had one during a run so I thought I'd give it a go, fully intending to blame you if my woefully underpowered ship lost :p As it turns out the anti-drone drone worked very well on the second stage, and even my serious lack of missiles didn't stop me from taking down all three stages of the boss.

Unfortunately I forgot that you need to use layout B to unlock layout C, so while I don't have the layout C kestrel I do have the 'fully heal from 1HP' achievement on hard and the hard mode victory :)
(My first victory with the Kestral believe it or not)

Just started playing FTL. Only put 1.5 hours in but it's great isn't it!

Hard, though, not got past the second map yet! Will need to give some thought to adjusting my strategy....

One of the more frustrating games I've played!

Racked up 6 hours already, playing the most recent version only on medium. Furthest I've got was sector 6, which I think was just good luck as it was one of the first runs through I did.

I think the zeropunctuation review was spot on - this game is like smashing yourself over and over again against a wall until you or the wall breaks.

After approx. 20-30 attempts with the default ship on "Normal" difficulty and only getting to the 7th sector twice, I gave "Easy" a go for the first time and finished it first time.

Was fortunate to acquire both weapon pre-charge together with the Glaive Beam for the first time, which is just an awesome weapon: 4 damage means you can get through almost all shields (except fully charged level 4) and still hit across multiple rooms. I used it with Ion Blast II and small bomb for taking out the shields, and a lvl1 attack drone timed to take down one layer of shield before unleashing Glaive. Final battle was entirely straightforward: only took a total of two hull hits throughout.

"normal" mode is just impossible though!

It's not that hard, you just need to spend money and upgrades optimally. None of it matters if you don't get the right weapons/crew so the luck factor is quite important.

I usually need a decent 2 weapon combo (2 x II lasers, laser + glaive, laser + drone), 1-2 green crew members (free energy) and 1 insect crew member to beat the game. It's generally good idea to do every side quest, especially homeworld side quests as they have the best rewards. Upgrading shields early is also useful as you can find a weak enemy, keep it alive while hitting its shields while they hit yours and get max experience on your crew.

Yeah, it's a gem in the rough this one.

I've sunken many hours into it since release, really enjoy experimenting with the different ships & tactics - the new content has really opened it up (mind control can be pretty amusing if done well).

Currently waiting on Starsector to be finished (similar in feel, but direct ship control) - imagine FTL meets mount & blade with retro top down graphics - worth a shot for those who are fans of this.

Got this game back in 2013 as a little bday gift and only in the past few weeks have i steam installed ait and played it..

Its brilliant. Incredibly frustratingly random too :O

Ive only beat the capital ship 3x on easy but im learning and unlocking loads of stuff.

I got the stealth cruiser.. wow that thing is weaaaaaaaaaak Dont think ive survived more than 3 fights in it yet... I dont like dodging and hiding from fights :( not my style ;p

Is there an Android version of this... Ive got a few flights coming up and this would be mindblowinlgy good to play on the tablet.

Bumping FTL thread as I'm still playing, and finally beat the game on 'Normal' difficulty with the Kestrel :D

I've previously beaten it with the Red-Tail, Fed cruiser, the Zoltan ship and the Engi one, but the Kestrel was still a problem. Now sorted.

Might give the Advanced Edition content a proper go. Only had one try with that so far (and have a 100% completion rate).

This game is like some sort of abusive relationship. Everything sort of goes fine, then all of a sudden you make one mistake and you DIE HARD SO QUICKLY.

I love it, but good grief. I'm playing on easy and I'm yet to complete it after umpteen attempts.

I got the Convoy game in a bundle a while back and only just played it. It's like a harder version of FTL. So many fights just kill me deaded.
