Fuel up/down again

Sainsbury's has just announced from today they're cutting Petrol by 4p and Diesel by 3p. Is supermarket diesel lower grade than other filling stations or is that just a myth?

The Sainsburys own brand offshore platforms, refinery and tankers operate with less strict safety requirements, meaning you get your fuel cheaper, but more people had to be sacrificed in the making.

Oh yes, they also add home brand bleach to the mix.

Our local Sainsburys petrol station is closed for refurbishment and we have no ASDA so as a result Morrisons have hiked up their fuel price to cash in, its quite strange to see Shell the cheapest for fuel lol

After I posted that I realised that my town has No Sainsbury & No Asda Fuel stations. :o + :( = :p

It's only 139.9 at my local though.

Greater human cost + bleach sounds like I'm getting a lot more for my money, delicious soylent fumes...

Do you have a reliable source for those frankly outlandish claims? Or did you pull them out of your backside? ;)

Not really a price war - more the first one to pass the recent $10 fall in crude on to consumers.

Absolutely correct, 'stole asda's thunder' this time getting in first

Fuel price has been dropping since end of Feb, sites were making around cost for unl and 1.2 for Diesel. After 1st week in March it was over 5ppl for both grades.

However bear in mind that wholesale in Jan was 5ppl more and average retail price went up 1p, In February it was 10ppl increase, average retail price was up 6-8ppl. So while the reductions were not passed on immediately, not all of the cost was passed on immediately either.

BP Ultimate Diesel down the road from me is now £1.59 .... Time to start using the Shell garage again. Putting 75l into the tank over the weekend was very painful.

If you told me 14 or so years ago that my fill up would cost me around £100 I'd have laughed you off the forecourt. Now I get excited when it costs me less than £95! :o
