Fuel up/down again

My dad has a dodge ram 4.7 v8 running petrol only. When he fulls up with the light on it costs him £125. He gets around 8-10 MPG! I run a bmw 323 so it's not to bad on fuel around 30mpg average. What do people think fuel is going to rise to in the next month or so I can see it nearing £1.50 per litre.

theres a place in london charging that much. Why it is doing any business i dont know.

Theres a place close to peterborough on thorney toll charging 1.92 p/l of unleaded fuel. I can't see why anybody in there right mind would pay that price 5 miles down the road it's 1.23ish in guyhirn. Im guessing there going out of busness and trying to sell what they have more the most ammount of money. I have seen people putting fuel in so they must have been desperate or stupid!

I just worked it out it's around £0.50p per litre over there it's crazy, when we go to our house over there our friends are always complaining how much is it over there they don't belive when I say it's £1.20 p/l over here.

Oh well, nothing we can do about it, so you either drive or you don't :)

Maybe it'll make a few people think twice before driving though, so the roads are clearer. Or perhaps it'll just clog the roads up more with people doing 25 in a 40 in 1L Hyundais, thus contributing to an early heart attack on my part.

Where is this £1.50 figure coming from?

I heard this on the BBC and Sky news. Remember VAT is going up, there is VAT on fuel. There is a further duty rise this year, and oil prices are increasing due to increased demand as Countries come out of recession.

Ok it is speculation at the moment but some feel it is increasingly likely. The figure they gave out was £1.54 per litre of petrol which I gather would make diesel around £1.60.

What is this going to do to inflation that is already 1% above Government target? I reckon Merv at the Bank of England will be writing plenty more letters to the Chancellor if inflation stays above 3%. That or they will have to raise interest rates which will be a double hit for home owners.
