Fuji X Series

From what i have been reading, the XF35 F2 is the one to go for, it's worth the extra for the weather resistance and the metal body.
:)
I disagree to an extent. As you say it can be worth the extra for the WR and metal build but only if those things are important to you. If you think they’re not a deal breaker I would wholeheartedly recommend the XC35mm. My copy is great.
Also don’t rule out the Viltrox 23mm f1.4. I bought one for the extra speed for indoor shooting and have not been disappointed.

All down to personal preference. :)

Only thing putting me off is the plastic mount rather than the metal one but it’s £169 (Amazon UK) vs £269 (E-infinity).

The plastic mount really shouldn’t make all that much of a difference unless you’re rough and ready with your equipment. I appreciate some photographers are as a lot of run and gun work will be like that but for regular use the plastic mount should hold up fine.

I'm quite heavy handed yes :p

There’s a fairly decent deal on the X-T30 with XF18-55mm over at the fujifilm refurb store - credit HUKD.
It might not be the cheapest it’s ever been but for the XF kit package and direct from fujifilm it’s a decent deal for anyone who’s interested.

I'm struggling trying to get anything long exposure working as I expect. I set the Xt-3 to T mode, adjust the command dial and click. However, the shot is incredibly over exposed when I attempt to adjust the shutter speed. So much so, the screen turns bright white. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. All the instructions say is what I'm doing.

If you’re doing a long exposure then you need to set iso low and potentially increase the aperture to reduce the amount of light. The live preview will show you where your exposure is.

Yep, ISO is around 160. 5.6, in focus. The exposure is dead in the middle, yet the screen is bright white. The only way I can decrease this is by changing the command dial, but it never works as I expect. It must be a school boy error, but its not as intuitive as it was on the Nikon.

This is the shot I was taking tonight. One of them anyway.

The live preview should show correctly which is strange. You don’t have exposure lock on or anything like that?

AE-L? Not that I am aware. It's more or less running defaults. I've made some minor changes. But I haven't been able to get long exposure to work at all yet. It's really odd.

Have any of you got the XF 16mm F/1.4 WR?

I have the 14mm 2.8 but I'm not really using it, comes out once in a blue moon if I really do need to fit everything in the frame although optically it's very good. I fell into the 'wide angle is best for landscape' trap and I can see now the 55-200 I recently purchased is going to be my lens of choice for hikes - it's an extremely impressive lens. Therefore I'm thinking of replacing the 14mm with the 16mm. I'm into low light photography so the F/1.4 looks appealing but I also like the idea of strapping the 16 on my camera as a general walkabout/indoor/'hand to anyone in auto mode' lens when on holiday with misses etc.

I have the 23mm F2 prime which continues to blow me away after years of use so I'm not sure how I can go wrong with the faster 16mm. Thought it was worth asking on here in case anyone has any views.
