Can you also take some pictures showing the 35 on your X-T3 body please?Of course, when I’m allowed to....
I disagree to an extent. As you say it can be worth the extra for the WR and metal build but only if those things are important to you. If you think they’re not a deal breaker I would wholeheartedly recommend the XC35mm. My copy is great. From what i have been reading, the XF35 F2 is the one to go for, it's worth the extra for the weather resistance and the metal body.

Also don’t rule out the Viltrox 23mm f1.4. I bought one for the extra speed for indoor shooting and have not been disappointed.
I'm quite heavy handed yesThe plastic mount really shouldn’t make all that much of a difference unless you’re rough and ready with your equipment. I appreciate some photographers are as a lot of gun and work will be like that but for regular use the plastic mount should hold up fine.
I'm struggling trying to get anything long exposure working as I expect. I set the Xt-3 to T mode, adjust the command dial and click. However, the shot is incredibly over exposed when I attempt to adjust the shutter speed. So much so, the screen turns bright white. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. All the instructions say is what I'm doing.
The live preview should show correctly which is strange. You don’t have exposure lock on or anything like that?Yep, ISO is around 160. 5.6, in focus. The exposure is dead in the middle, yet the screen is bright white. The only way I can decrease this is by changing the command dial, but it never works as I expect. It must be a school boy error, but its not as intuitive as it was on the Nikon.
