Fuji X Series

The S10 and the S20 can be remote linked to Fuji's portable Instax printer (polaroid esq), but some reason the X-T4 are not.

So it's also one unexpected perk if you want to do that for fun, on holiday.
I didn’t know that. My kids will love it! One has a. Polaroid Go and one has a Fuji Instax so now I can join the club :D

On another note, I found an old Fuji X10 I forgot I had. Bought it in the US back in 2011 and it made its way into a drawer at some point and was forgotten about. Quite a cool little camera, albeit a bit laggy. My 8 year old has claimed it so I’m interested to see what kind of shots he produces!

Im really digging this Pacific Blues film sim recipe. I’m sure the novelty will wear off and I’ll go back to something more standard but it’s fun in the meantime.

I’ve got the X100F are the recipes fairly straight forward to add?

Yeah, you just enter them into the settings. I’m not familiar with the X100F, but some Fuji cameras have the capability to save custom profiles. E.g. the X-S10 can save 4 custom presents which can be selected on the dial.

I tried my new lens at a swim meet over the weekend. I took 3350 images, and wow it has blown me away. It offers much more than the 55-200 I was using prior. I lose that extra reach, but the detail in the shots is far superior, so I can crop further in, which makes the difference. Plus portaits ae just to die for. I'm not knocking the 55-200 however, it is still a fabulous lens; it's just you can see where the money has gone in this one.

Anyone upgraded from XT-2 (or similar gen) to an X-T5?

Having an itch, was looking at 100V, but they are like rocking horse stuff at the moment (not jumping on the trend, had the original X100, and X100S)

I am thinking about getting something more modern too from my X-T1, but X-T5 seems expensive, X-T4 seems like the sweet spot. It has IBIS as well, and used it is like £900.

If you want small, like X100v but not that, then X-E4 is the one to get, and put on like a 23/2.0. but people have caught onto that and they too are just as hard to find as X100v.

The other camera that is like that, and still can find quite easily is the XS10. It's about £650 used. It's an X-T4 internal but single card, IBIS.

This looks great.

Is there any way to achieve the effect in Lighroom or do I need to plug the settings straight into my X-T30 II?

You could probably try to emulate the effect in lightroom, but from what I’ve read so far it is difficult to reliably replicate it across a range of subjects. You can apply the effect to raw images through the Fuji raw editing software but it uses the camera processor and thus requires it to be plugged in.

Does the X-T30II have customisable presets? The X-S10 has 4 to which I assign 4 recipies to cover a range of styles. Off the top of my head I have pacific blues, Reggie’s Portra, Kodachrome 64 and Bright Summer. I’ll probably change them depending on where I’m bringing the camera.

Caved and picked up an XT-5. Great upgrade from the XT-2. The IBIS is astonishing, 1/4 handheld pin sharp. Wow.

Little bug bear from XT-2 still, does anyone know if you can limit the modes you can select in the viewfinder more? I get fed up with pressing it countless times and you can never keep track of what mode it’s on. I just want to alternate between EVF and screen.

It’s an astonishing bit of kit. Fujifilm lent me one for a hike in Iceland as I was doing some work for the trekking company and I was dead impressed. I can’t quite tempt myself to upgrade from my X-T30 II though, I think I’d have to have both as the X-T30 II is all about portability and makes the perfect travel companion.

Found this guide, configured the settings and loving it!

There is a sensor that auto switch between the 2? Are you blocking it? any dirt on the sensor?

Been playing about with that pacific blue preset and got me thinking.

Does anyone know a decent resource for high quality Lightroom presets I can try? I have VSCO ones I bought eons ago which are fantastic but I see they phased out support for LR.

Another question is that I now edit only on my Ipad Pro. Profile and Presets are distinct things in LR CC but can you actually adjust the settings or see what the preset is doing (I am sure in Lighroom Classic on Mac when I loaded a preset I could see all the adjustments to the image - that doesn’t happen on the LR CC iPad app).

To be honest the Lightroom app on IPad Pro is absolutely pants but it’s all I have right now. Can’t wait to get a MBP and be back on LR Classic at some stage.

Wait for Black Friday though.
