No, I didn't. At all. Read again.

What's your point?

i don't see what the difference is. I'm sorry if its supposed to be obvious but it isn't. Are you saying that wanting one is a fad but getting it done suddenly means it isn't? he doesn't want one because its 'cool' so what are your reasons?

Firstly, I'm not emo. :p

Seriously advise on getting something smaller first. Take that advice as you will.

Example - I nearly got flames tattooed up my forearms some years back. I decided not too because a) I wouldn't be able to work in the summer in a short-sleeve shirt and b) that nob-end from linkin park appeared on the scene with basically the same thing. Not an association i'd really enjoy.

If this is your first tattoo, and you are not 100%, but you want one - get something possibly more appropriate for your first. A few years ago I wanted to be covered in the things, much like that photo penski posted. These days i still love tattoo's but realistically, compared to six years or so back, i'd want to be a little more conservative.

I have some big tattoos, and in the future hope to have more work done - so please don't think this advice is coming from some anti-tattoo guy. But its a big impactful thing to have as a first experience, and without trying to be offensive or arrogant, its a little naive to think you might not feel different about it in the future.

Plus a full sleeve of laser removal isn't pretty either.

Either way, I hope you make the right desicion for you :)

ive been through the whole, star, and flames up the arm phase.

ive not seen many people who have had tattoos without being coloured, especially not skool.

also similar style to this but more defined -

just noticed the do not republish bit on the bottom.

I am solely talking about N-E-O-N (said loud & slowly) from what I've gathered about H-I-M (said loud & slowly) from his persona on the forums.

C'mon matey, bit far that

so how is it a fad?? and keep it friendly, i'm having a discussion here, or do you want to drag it down to a slagging match? resorting to personal attacks isnt going to get you anywhere, mate.

i can assure you it isnt a fad.

Fad:
A fashion that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time; a craze.

That does sound like Neon's decision to get this full sleeve tat, so I can understand the word fad being used in that context.

That is pretty nice line work. I nearly became a trainee tattooist :)

The only problem I see, and I really hate it when people preached to me, but you seem to be aiming for that style, because its somewhat rare. Inevitably this will not always be the case, and there have always been 'fads' for tattoos.
I'm genuinely just saying that as a first tattoo, a sleeve is a pretty extreme choice, and not necessarily the most smart route to take from experience.

I don't regret any of my tattoos, but what I was trying to point out, is that I very nearly could have done. The flames were not a phase for me, and they still aren't, I think tattoo flames look absolutely awesome, there is just something very appealing about those designs to me, however, having my forearms done like I said previously, could have become a bit of an arse.

You don't think that having the upper arm done first would be a good start? because presumably you aren't having a full sleeve done in one sitting?

well im not fussed if others people start doing it. my design will be unique in its own right.

but she will be tattooing from the top down naturally. and if it gets to a point where i dont think she needs to go further i can always say lets stop it there.

It's a fad for HIM FGS, not anyone else in particular.

Have you got a girlfriend?

Really shallow point to make, but some girls may not like them - I know I don't :)

Just something else to think about - or not.

BB x

I wouldn't go looking for someone who didn't like them in the first place, not worthy enough for a place in my heart or even to bother with.

Yet i've got a girlfriend with tattoos, and I think they make her look more beautiful, i've got some myself.
She even designs her own and aspires to be an artist, she's truely amazing at what she does.

I maintain working in a professional job I just have to cover it up, people know me for who I really am.

Yet, other people on first looks think bad things of me, screw em :p
You'll find millions of people out there who do like it, people who wouldn't get it but admire it.

Anyone go to the convention 2 weeks ago or so in London?
:)

I've got one done so far, of my planned half sleeve (then full sleeve)
£300 for one, I expect the same again for the next on in december, and a little more for the back ground.

It's a interest, a hobbie? you people spend loads of PC things (as I do) but I also do on this :p
