Cool poll, quite surprised to see so many votes for Fallout 4. I like the game, but it feels very inferior compared to New Vegas, let alone Witcher 3. I would even put SOMA and Dying Light above it, personally.

Mad Max is easily the best running game of the year and one of the very few that didn't give me any problems. Just Cause 3 is a complete mess in comparison.

Edit: And it's pretty fun on top of that.

Mad Max is a blast; but story wise is so weak say compared to Shadowrun Hong Kong :D yes I pimp that game. Best writing in an rpg since Shadowrun Returns: Dragonsfall which was my goty for 2014 hands down.

we've had some decent games though this year :D and yea Mad Max is under rated; specially for the price I got it at :D

I feel there are a lot of games missing in that list and some that simply should not be there.

W3 got my vote because of its story above all else, fo4 IMHO was a sad waste of money in terms of story value. (What there was of it anyway) it is a decent open Worldly exploration kind of game though but I much prefer good dialogue and story before oh look I can pick up a spoon.

Wow the Witcher 3 is more popular than I thought. Might have to pick that up in the Steam sale if they do it for £25 again.

No votes for Ori and the blind forrest? Not played it but from what i gathered on the forum it was getting some very good user reviews.

You can get w3 for about 10-15 on several cd key sites like g2play/kinguin :)

I don't think it's necessarily more popular, it's just a better game :D. I think FO4 will win the official award due to its current hype.

I've enjoyed Ori, but it gets to the stage where 20 mins is enough as it's just so frustrating. Some people like the challenge, whereas I'm more of a sore loser. :p

Yup, not brilliant story-wise but very fun to just pop into and play for a bit. Also, very good graphics and great optimisation.

Witcher 3 was very good, but the combat mechanics were very lacking in my opinion.
The fact (especially for a PC game) that you had to switch in such a cumbersome style between the signs was arduous.
Although the narrative was good, and the story line very strong I feel it has limited replay value.

However I think fallout 4 will get the award in the end.
