US: Game of Thrones Season 3 (contains spoilers)

If I want to reference the books then I'll do so. Live with it.

No we wont live with it. It's clear a lot of people in this thread want to talk about the TV Show without anyone talking about things that do or don't happen in the books. I for one won't be reading he books, so have no interest in hearing what's in them.

Or you could start your own thread in the appropriate section instead of trying to hijack this

Um... what?

I'm pointing out that there is already another thread for non-spoiler discussion of the show (which I linked to), so that those of us who want to discuss the show in the context of the books can do so here. Isn't that the very opposite of a 'hijack'?

What is this "appropriate section" you are referring to? Both threads are in the same section (US TV shows). And what exactly would this hypothetical new thread be for? We already have a thread for US spoiler, US non-spoiler, and UK timeline...

Your post really doesn't make any sense.

Er no, you won't, and no I won't! Just in case you have difficulty reading, this thread is about SEASON 3 of the TV Series, not the books. If you want to talk about the books, and in the process spoil certain aspects of the TV Series for everyone, then kindly do one and start a thread about the books.

Stop the bickering please. This is for the TV show only. I you want to discuss the book then start another thread.

I'll remove any book references that are reported.

Why are there three threads for the exact same topic then?

Surely its easier to add the word book to the title (contains book spoilers), have the US watch along thread for those watching on the Monday morning, and then have the UK thread for those watching Monday evening?

Anyway, I'm really enjoying tyrions scenes so far :)

Only need 2 threads. One for the books and one for the TV show. All people have to do is not enter the TV show thread until circa 12 hours later when the UK airs the show.

Also, I find it amusing that Hincapie hates people posting spoilers in other threads yet has a somewhat arrogance about posting spoilers in others....

I think it would be easier to put book spoilers in spoiler tags.

Please, no book talk! :(

I totally mis-read that as 'no boob talk'

I'm not keen on the 'lets show every character in every episode' they've been doing for a while.

I'd rather have a good 10-15 mins with a character every other episode than a couple every time.

The only problem is that there is just SO much material to cover they just can't really leave people out. That said though, I totally agree though that there needs to more of a focus on each story at a time rather than jumps to someone else every 5 minutes.

I agree, though the bigger problem is them filling the show with totally made up scenes at the expense of scenes that actually progress the plot. They spent more time on the cringeworthy Pod scene, or goodbye to hotpie scene than they have establishing who Tormund is.

Stay tuned For the next episode, featuring 30seconds of Jon standing in the snow, 90 seconds of Dany(still negotiating with the slaver!... Reckon that deal might be done by the end of the season) then a 5minute made up scene featuring all of the porn stars they have cast, wandering around naked, oh and Ros:rolleyes:

yea that really irritates all the back and fourth between characters every 30-90 seconds and then you can still not see them again for a few episodes anyway.

I suppose once people start getting killed off it wont be as big an issue though?

I never read the books and started watching the show only recently but couldn't resist to find out how the plot turns out. I still enjoy watching the show very much even though I am aware of major twists.

So the point, anybody worried about RW? After I found out what happens I find it hard to believe that I would be incited to continue watching the show? Very bold move by the author but does he pull it off, do people still enjoy the story after this event or many just leave it? Show is awesome I just hope such bold move won't ruin it prematurely.

At the risk of getting shouted at for 'no book talk' that doesn't apply, because GRRM adds new characters at a seemingly high rate than he kills them off.

That's ok, Ros can fill in for all of the new characters.

IT is one of the greatest passages I have ever read, and was the highlight of the entire saga for me...It was a very important event, and totally changes the dynamics of the entire Game of Thrones. It is still having large ramifications and is yet to truly unfold.

I was in total shock when I read it, and was initially angry, but it was just totally awesome!...it certainly hasn't harmed the story in the slightest

God knows what they will do in the show.

Without spoiling anything.... Yes it doesn't affect the books a great deal as the character involved isn't a major one in the book (they don't have any of their own chapters). They've been portrayed as much more central in the show than they ever are in the books, it will shock people for sure.
