US: Game of Thrones Season 3 (contains spoilers)

What exactly is the problem referring to the books? I haven't once posted any spoilers in this thread, but having read all of the books I am obviously going to notice where they have changed things and I don't see why I can't mention that.

I really do not understand why some of you are behaving so childishly about this.

I can't believe I am going to have to start a separate thread to discuss this when there are already multiple threads.

Pathetic.

I felt the RW changed the feel of the whole story, it was an amazing few chapters, as were the chapters a little later with the red viper against the mountain - making it by far my favourite book. Instead of having a side you want to win you're left, there are only characters who you care about.

Dany's story peters off after a while, Bran's is quite good but slow, Ayra's I've found odd but enjoyable, Tyrions is really good at least.

Personally I don't mind discussing scenes from the books that I haven't read as long as people put them inside a spoiler if it is something that has not happened yet.
It's all of the moaning and whining that the show is different from the books or skips parts of the book that I find annoying.

If people want to explain that a scene is different from the books and tell us non book worms what happened in the alternate version of the story then I'm fine with that and it does add to the thread in a beneficial way.
Just don't cry that something was changed... someone saying something like "I prefered how it was done in the book where XXX happened instead"
I'm fine with.

Crying "omg omg how dare they change the book XXX should have happened exactly the same as it was in he book"
Is annoying

Summed up.

negatively comparing the show to the books = Is annoying
Explaining that something was different in the books = I'm fine with

I haven't moaned, I've complained and I've clearly stated why. That's fine IMHO. You cannot expect to have a thread with only positive posts - completely unrealistic.

So it's a question of perspective then. We'll have to agree to disagree, but thanks for taking the time to explain.

But you book lot do.

None of you seem to be able to resist the temptation to allude to what will/should happen as per the books.

Simply mentioning something went down differently in the books is almost as much of a spoiler itself.

95% of the people watching/posting about GoThr in this thread care not for the books. Just put it to vote, or make a new thread so you can freely discuss with like minded book people and FULLY discuss it with spoilers.

I'm confused with the ownership of Harrenhall.

Goffrey appointed Baelish Lord of Harrenhall. But then Hoster Tulley dies and now Roose Bolton has now taken up charge of Harrenhall.

But now Baelish is going to the Eerie to bring Lysa into the war against the North. But she hates the Lannisters for their alledged killing of Jon Aryn. So why would she side with the Lannisters?

Baelish and Lysa and Catelyn all grew up together, and we saw how well Catelyn and Lysa got on last season. Little finger is betting he can use these personal connections to his advantage.

Littlefinger is Lord of Harrenhall in the eyes of the Lannisters, and Bolton is the Lord (at least temporarally) in the eyes of the North

Yes Varys explained what Baelish is up to in EP04, got it now.

I don't think anyone really believed Danaerys would trade her dragon for the unsullied, so the ending was predictable. Not that it mattered, it was wicked.

Danaerys is just so smoking hot when she mad :)

Much, much better this week. 8/10. Looks like it might be back on track now.

Can't believe they bought the Pod jokes back though.

I like the look between Barristan and Jorah at the end. The bits I really didn't like were Beric(one of my favourite characters:(), Ros, Bran's dream and the Varys scene with the warlock. Still, there was no Shae though.

Craster's was fairly well done, but no last words for Jeor:(
