US: Game of Thrones Season 3 (contains spoilers)

Wasn't expecting the end to Episode 3 at all. Have only just finished book 1 so was quite a shock. Without any spoilers is that scene also from the books?
 
I thought the Pod scene was painful to watch tbh...they have so much to fit in, and half of each episode seems to consist of totally fabricated scenes/characters!...actually, the hotpie goodbye scene was worse...too much time spent on a totally insignificant character, whereas Blackfish and Edmure are barely even introduced.
 
The episode I got (I've got Sky Atlantic but missed it before people start moaning) the song came in over about the last 30 seconds or so of dialogue, was that right?

I've only read up to the third book, so I also have to be careful in this thread. Unfortunately people seem to be mostly ignoring the other thread, with most of the discussion in here instead.

Exactly, this thread seems more active and it is stupid to have one with spoliers and one without. It would be better to have one about the book and one about the show.

I just think no one who has read the book should spoil the story. This is a discussion about the US TV SHOW > GAME OF THRONES SEASON 3. It is about season 3 of the tv show, NOT the book.

Season 3 is incredibly badly directed imo. Not often I specifically note something like that, but I have really noticed it in the episodes so far.

Oh and I am confused...
who the hell was the guy who cut off Jaime's hand?
 
I generally don't care about stuff like that(Yeah, completely change Shae if you want....Asha to Yara- fine), but in this case, I think it is bad....Don't see a reason for the change myself

^^Shouldn't that be 'What's in a name, role, background and personality?':p
