US: Game of Thrones Season 3 (contains spoilers)

Does there have to be a point? The guy with the knife found it fun.

I think at this point Theon is supposed to be one of the most hated characters around; betrayed Robb, executed the Winterfell blacksmith, had two innocent boys kills, fondled his sister. Perhaps only Joffrey is more deserving of that particular fate.

Well I found the series of late really dragging, not a little but a lot so yes, there needs to be a point, otherwise they might as well film some extras as beggers busking for change on the street for no other reason then fill screen time.

Of the point is to make the character hate him then they succeeded. If that wasn't the point then it was a waste of screen time and money from the studio.

They're essentially a scouting party.

Nah, it was important to understand the character.

Give it time :)

That's exactly the reason :D

She was a nobody from the north that tried playing the game and failed.

How long do I need to wait.....been waiting for the past 6 episodes for something to happen. The only significant development so far is the dragon lady has finally got an army.

Joffrey is still King.
King of the north hasn't left that chamber in absolute months.
John Snow has gone walkies with the cold people.
The fat guy has made friend with a single mother.
The kid who can't walk still dreams.

By "Eastenders" I mean its all talkie talkie, not really much happening. They show 2 characters gossip at the laundry mat, then a couple more down the pub, then a few more on the street and that's an episode. This is VERY much like it.

At this rate, I expect I can skip season 3, 4, 5 & 6, I'll then watch it when it is year 2018 and won't have missed much. I bet Joffrey would still be king and king of the north is still alive and so is the dragon lady.

Also, I bet they won't show any fighting when it comes to the attack on Castley Rock.

It'll be "we've won!" And that's about it.

The pacing of the show is just so slow, it has like 2 gears, slow and very slow. There seems to be no urgency to anything. Even dialogue driven shows can be tense if things have a deadline but right now no one is in a hurry to go anywhere, no one's life is in danger and actually ever since Sean Bean got his head chopped off, I didn't care for any characters and expect any one of them to drop dead any minute. The only fun person on screen is the girl with the dragon and the only one I want to see win this thing.

If all you want is action scenes you're watching the wrong show. Stick to the A-Team or something.

I don't necessarily need action, I want some urgency (this is a 10 show a season kind of show god dammit), story developing and move along, good change of pace now and again. I already said The West Wing is one of my favourite show, there is no action in that but it was good? Why? The writing, the script, the pace and wonderful storytelling. I also love Gilmore Girls, trust me, there is not a gun in sight in that show and it is still bloody brilliant.

Game of Thrones is not as great as everyone makes it out to be, forget the books and look at the show on its own, behind the glossy surface and production value, it is like Emmerdale.

Did you miss the fight between Sandor and the Red Resurrection Berric?
Seemed like a bit of talkie talkie intersperesed with a sword or two.
Anyway after armies fight, they consolidate, and then they fight again, tywin is consolidation, rob is falling apart.

So while not strictly Season 3 related, randomly finding cast members is fun :D

Excuse my ugly mug

Yes I did, but it was a fight between 2 characters I know not much about nor care for their survival.

The Hound has been there since the very beginning and had lots of important scenes with Joffrey, Tyrion and Sansa.

He is a reasonably important character in the books and in the series; even if they did cut out the scene were he kisses his little bird.

Beric Dondarrion isn't actually seen much in the books but he is mentioned quite regularly by other characters up to and including Dance with Dragons.

I expect things to move fairly slowly. The show spans a large geographical area for a start, let alone the number of characters and families etc that we're learning about. I don't find any of it particularly confusing or difficult to understand, bar remembering a few of the more obscure names where they have titles instead (eg: Jeor Mormont).

I don't imagine, without having read the books, that such a large scale story can just flit forward in time for the sake of getting a few fights in for the TV show.

3 Walkies? You call that climb walkies?!
4 This will surprise you shortly
5 Yeah Bran never walks again and he will always dream

What attack on Casterly Rock? ;)

^^Tombo picture. That is funny, but also makes me sad to think that Tulisa(?) is now Robb's main tactician, and Blackfish(one of the most awesome characters in the books) is just some random thug:(
