Also limbo & inside, but its hyper light drifter that i'm enjoying a lot due to its surreal atmosphere.

Trying to find others that nail a good bit of atmosphere

A really old one, but system Shock 2.
The cargo holds, especially as one of the first games to make real use of Creative Labs EAX, with quad speaker :eek:

+1 to System Shock 2 & Stalker. Both are best played with mods, IMO.

F.E.A.R. + expansions (Extraction Point & Perseus Mandate) are good as well.

The Metro games both have a decent atmosphere - a little like a light weight Stalker but more refined.

Alien Isolation?

That game just never stop being tense the entire way through.

But the games built using the dark engine (System shock 2, Thief 1 and 2) have great atmosphere.

The Division! I know people play it like a Diablo 3 gear-fest but there's a fantastic atmosphere to the city.

Similar to LIMBO, I really liked Never Alone.
Loved the Inuit videos in between the game sections

Another in that vein, though from a smaller dev (one-man) is Spate. Not as polished as the others, but loved the atmosphere - was one big ASMR hit for its short running time (~2 hours)

I trumpet this game everyone asks about good game recommendations, the setting, story, gameplay art direction & atmosphere in it are truly fantastic.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games had an amazing atmosphere and a great gameworld.

I also love the atmosphere in the Bioshock games.
