Gaming keyboard..

I've got to say i quite like my G11 (yes i know biased) it's a pretty sturdy keyboard (important requirement for them rage moments lol), back lighting is good. It is a tad on the large side and i still haven't found the use for so many macro keys. A pretty solid board should you choose to get one. As for the others i can't comment, this is my first gaming keyboard i usually use generic/laptop ones.

Two final questions.

On the Sidewinder and the G11, can all of the lights be turned off (either by software, or a button on the keyboard)

The pulsing glow on my Tarantula gets annoying

That however is very much nicer than my G11. This is displayed clearly by its "how good it is" rating, otherwise known as price.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but if you're referring to the cost of the Logitech then I consider it one of the best £50s I've ever spent, easily worth the extra money, I think most people who bought one would agree.

Personally I find the G11 and most of the other 'gaming' keyboards rather ugly and a bit ott.

Edit: The Logitech \ is indeed next to the Z :)

I'd say go with a Lycosa too, but I'd favour the mirror edition. It's better looking (IMO) but the rubber keys have apparently a tendency to rub off, which put me off buying it.
Besides the mirror edition keys feel great to the touch too, kind of unusual. It's not as prone to dirt as you might think either.

I've used the G11 for a long time and haven't had any fault with it, has all the keys you need, I never used the "G" keys though so they are a waste of space to me really. I think overall it looks quite nice, the blue glow is certainly pretty. I like the feel of the keys aswell, soft, easy to type and game with. The keyboard is quite large in size so check you have room for it.

I once spilt a drink on my G11 that killed it, and I ordered a new one right away :p

Having said all that, the G11 is the only "gaming" keyboard I have used, but I would reccomend it.

The sidewinder has the \ next to z full size enter and the lights are turned down and off on the first "dial".

What about the Logitech G110? I found the g11 and g15v1 to be a bit crap to type on and the ctrl alt and shift keys feel clunky or sticky. The silver paint comes off easy too.

Please go for the Logitech, you will not regret it, near laptop style keys, all soft touch, looks the best out of all of those to be honest and met your inital demands for a kb!

Only pic i have of it, kind of showing the profile off it, it really is that thin

Yeah, that was my experience with the g15 too, went on ebay the day I got it :D

That logitech in the pic up there does look smart though.

Got a wolf king free off a mate, all I can say is I cannot go back to a standard keyboard, I have to use the circlular gaming thing now, I'm just to use to it :D

My friend had one of those, I tried it out but didn't get on with it. Regular keyboard for me.

I'm not sure what makes it so expensive either, only 3 reasons really i can think of

1) something like 8mm thick
2) backlit (ok im clutching at straws on that one!)
3) key mechanism - extremely nice to type on and the keys are like a laptop

I personally prefer laptop style keys rather than the big clunky ones on most keyboards, it really is the nicest keyboard i have used - would only swap it for a dinevo edge (spelling?)

I've got a sidewinder and it ghosts. I can't jump (assigned to space) while pressing W, so you may want to rethink that one.

Crikey,

Thanks for the heads up on that.

I can't believe 'gaming' keyboards still suffer from ghosting, it's a joke
