Gaming keyboard..

Please go for the Logitech, you will not regret it, near laptop style keys, all soft touch, looks the best out of all of those to be honest and met your inital demands for a kb!

Only pic i have of it, kind of showing the profile off it, it really is that thin

A pint can of stella would have looked better on your desk....;)

Alchemy Elixia . Nice feel comes with replacment gaming keys . Decent shortcut buttons and no silly functions .

Had a G15 and other than the lcd panel it was rubbish . Lad has an eclispe which is also rubbish . Far to much travel and the lighting is crap . He seems to be happy with it though

That looks just like my Tarrantula

My mate has one, and he says it's missing the left Windows key, I'd die without this :/

Crikey,

Thanks for the heads up on that.

I can't believe 'gaming' keyboards still suffer from ghosting, it's a joke

I have the Sidewinder X6 and I can use W + [space] very easily. I can also use W + D + [space] very easily too.

The X6 has a very nasty fault with the keyboard membraine under the keys that slightly moves out of line. That makes some keys not responding to a key press on occassions.

Hopefully the Gigabyte mechanical gaming keyboard will be out soon :)

I have the eclipse 2 and none of the function buttons that you describe work in windows 7.

I have an eclipse 2, currently on xp, but when I get a new agming pc with windows 7 on it I plan to use the keyboard on that, you're saying the function buttons don't work on windows 7? I assume everything else on it works okay?

Yup no windows key on the left which tbh is a god send as as was always hitting it when playing first person shooters . Still has one on the right .

most gaming keyboards just come with an option to disable the window key rather than removing it

seems an odd choice.

I have both a MS 8000 and a X6 sidewinder.

I dont like the 8000 when gaming as it seems to lag slightly, so i use the x6, although for every day typing, etc i find the x6 too noisy, the keys travel so far and make such a racket its like using a typre writer for the 1950's!

I like the look of the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard but it seems a bit pricey for what it is. Definitely on my "maybe" list. I love the look of the Razer Tarantula but availability of the UK layout version seems to be low to non-existent. The Microsoft Sidewinder X6 also looks nice, especially for the volume control dial, but I read a review that stated you couldn't move forward (W), crouch (Ctrl) and reload (R) at the same time. Finally the Razer Arctosa looks interesting but reviews complain about the build quality and it lacks backlighting.

I currently have a Saitek Eclipse but I'm not thrilled with it. It does the job but I'm looking for something a bit more impressive and something with a better typing action. I didn't realise it was such a tough component to get right.

I've ordered a G11 and an X6. I'll see how they compare to my Tarrantula -which is dying after 2 or 3 years of use
