Roger Daltrey agrees with the kneeling, but thinks it should stop next season. I agree with him.

Actually got a senior Tory MP on now, the chair of the Covid recovery group, Mark Harper.

Got a feeling the Tories are gonna warm to GBnews.
Surely it should stop when those wishing to do it decide it is time? I have no problems with individuals deciding to take the knee or not to take the knee. What I really fail to understand is why so many people (not aimed at you) get so bent out of shape about this? The England football team for example have decided as a group to kneel before games that’s there choice there statement what’s the problem?

Back on thread topic GB news will clearly appeal to a certain audience and will be a massive turn off for others. I would like it if they would just admit they are right wing biased and stop pretending to be neutral, the voice of the people etc as they are clearly neither. I’m not convinced they will survive as I can’t see how they turn a profit the viewing numbers are not sufficient to generate the add revenue they need especially given the significant negative being associated with this Chanel is likely to produce on social media. so they will be reliant on the shareholders/investors being willing to burn money.

"FREEDOM DAY DELAYED"

At least it's not going to be sensationalised I suppose.

They really need to work on their sound. The whole thing reminds me of when I was first learning to DJ and would play around with the sound levels way too much
It is staggering given how easy it should be to hire some experienced technicians and buy the right kit. The whole thing feels a little low rent. I was expecting a modern swanky feeling TV studio and state of the art tech but it all feels a little soviet era, bad sound bad lighting and cheap fixtures and fittings.

People should stop wearing poppies on Remembrance day. We get it, people died, but so what, time to move on. We have had decades of the wokist pushing this poppy agenda.

Poppies were made for Remembrance day.

As for GB News, I think it'll take some getting used to, the new format.

But good on them. Sky News and BBC News have abandoned journalism all morning by just streaming the Bashir parliament meeting. They don't bother sending their journalists or reporters there to actually report back. They just flood the airways so we can all do their work for them.

It's Jedit, pretty much everything he posts contains hyperbole!

He's a pretty excitable chap :p

In answer though, I totally read that as hyperbole at the time

It's more that I was short on time, and a short, blunt statement is more effective than only making half your point. Say instead that the governance in this country is indistinguishable from that in a banana republic - corruption and nepotism are endemic, the police are being used as a weapon to suppress dissent, open attempts are being made to subvert free and fair elections, and our nominal leaders are simply above the law.

Not having a TV I have not watched this new outfit in operation, but whatever, they seem to have people here "engaging" about them, which to any advertising agency, is good :)

I do like Andrew Neil though, so would be interested to hear him on the channel. Anyone who dated someone like Pamella Bordes has to be more interesting than Corbyn and his Abbott dalliance :)

I caught some GB News last night which had Rod Liddle via Zoom arguing with 3 other people, a segment that lasted at least 20 minutes with truly atrocious sound quality the whole way through.

I've never heard of Dan Wootton previously & now I yearn for those times to return.

Are we going to have a thread for BBC News, ITV News and Channel 4 News as well?
No dont be silly this is a right wing thread that was made in the silly assumption that it would be a professional operation and not something that was cobbled together by blaggers.

I dont think its meant to be profitable. Its just a propaganda station for the extremes of the brexit brigade and the top Tories. Funded by past Tory treasurers and donors and now lords and fronted by brexiters. Its going to be a costly unmitigated disaster. Just like their other projects.

But right wingers and alt-right wingers will lap the disaster up and say stupid complimental things about it. Isnt it basicaly from the sounds of it just like the James Whale show used to be, but less professional.

Good on them? WTF for.

For trying a new format.

Or do you like being told breaking news that is the same news all day?

BBC and Sky News literally had a live feed to the Bashir committee on all morning. That is lazy journalism. Journalists and reporters are paid to sit through those committees and report back to the viewers, with maybe some highlights of it. The BBC News and Sky News thought they would put the least amount of effort in by filling the tv schedule with information that only a minority of a minority would be interested in. Then the next time they see the fall tv news ratings they wonder why their viewing figures are down.

None of that is true in the way you are implying.

They havent tried a new format, they have just done it badly. Thats not a good on them moment.

There are many news channels. This is actually worse than the old Iranian TV (?) that so many complained about Corbyn being on, until it was pointed out that more Tories had been on than Labour.

Someone said the Tory MP will like this. Of course they will, because they will be able to lie their arses off without being questioned about those lies.

GB News, the UKs answer to Fox News.

Well, the UK already had an answer to Fox News; "No ******* thanks"

You don't speak for the 'UK' and although I don't watch Fox regularly I do every now and then catch up on some of Tuckers sections.

If GB News has some Andrew Neil content similar to his output when he was with the BBC I imagine I may want to watch that to.

Well from the way you post you certainly seem to be their targeted annoyed at everything audience.

BTW I actually do speak for the 'UK' and I agree with Dirk.

Curious as to why you'd watch a guy's segments that are supposedly "news", when Fox themselves have come out that nobody in their right mind would ever believe anything Tucker would say because it's entertainment, not news.

As arrogant as ever I see.

I don't see how looking forward to things like interviews undertaken by Andrew Neil qualifies one as being 'annoyed at everything' rather than someone looking for insightful and challenging content.

Neil is fairly well renowned for not giving interviewees, of any political persuasion, an easy time. Hence the criticism of Boris ducking out on being interviewed previously.
