GD may close for a while

It's about attitudes, not forum permissions.

You can't "proove" an attitude.

What attitudes are they? If you can't proove a such attitude how do you recognise this 'clique'?

There are cliques and groups in every area of life.

It's human nature for people to associate with others and form groups.
You can't honestly expect it to be any different here.

Get over it, most people will take you on face value anyway if they have any maturity about them.

But you say there is a clique. Meaning an exclusive group of people, yeah? Where are they? I don't think there are any sections of this forum that are available to just a small selection of people. (Exluding the moderating team.)

So does exclusive now mean private parts of a forum? The way I understand it, it could mean a whole load of things ie the ability to post total garbage and not have your thread trolled.

Ohh ok. Can you show me what you mean? A link to a thread, or something?

Edit: No offence to Gilly, just an example of attitudes towards certain forum members etc.

No it's just a general feeling. I do it all the time. I take less notice of people if I don't know they're name.

Who pronounces clique, 'cleek'? And who pronounces it 'click'?

If you pronounce it 'cleek' you can be in my team, if you pronounce it 'click', GTF.

Well that's what a clique is, an exclusive club. Like mensa. Application by appointment, that kind of thing.

Gilly and the others, say what you want. There is a clique... defiantely 100%.

BUT, there is only a clique because of people going to meet's together, becomming friends. The older members (in terms of forum age, no birthday age) obviously are more known by as they see their name's mentioned more often. Is the "clique" turnings people's opinions and effecting GD decisions ? No... simple answer.

I'm not a big reader of the GD my self, more of a motor, sports and console poster (As the regulars in there will of seen), why ? Because of the poor state of the GD. I don't want to read what people are having for their lunch, in the GD I want to see proper discussions, not flaming.

Couple of ways in my eyes to solve this. Either people start to use the RTM button's more, or there are more mods on the forums.

Dicuss...

LOL I can't believe that the last 4-5 pages have been occupied with talk about cliques.

Does it get much gayer than that? :p

A significant part of my PhD is on cliques  ;)

I thought I would come here to escape it, unfortunately it follows me everywhere. :(

Clee-Q?

Maybe the problem is that people who are viewed as being in a clique are just funnier and better, and those who feel excluded just aren't as good, no matter how hard they try?

How about click-ay.

:(

It could be said that certain people belong to a wee 'clique' of thier own :p . As it happens I don't think there any really. There are just people who know each other well (either on the forum or off it) and tend to post in the same threads and get each others sense of humour and get a bit of banter. If that is supposed to be a clique then there are loads of them ;)

Anyway, closing GD for a while, certain things considered it doesn't surprise me one little bit. Would I have minded a year ago... yes probably, do i mind now? Well i will let you work that one out.
