Apostrophes are often acceptable if you're pluralising a number or acronym.
for starters, pluralise isn't a proper word. the correct English is to make something plural

and you never add an apostrophe when making numbers plural
the 1980s for example is the 1980s. no apostrophe

likewise if you're playing cards; "i've got three threes"
however, three's a crowd.

and adding an apostrophe after an acronym isn't grammatically correct either. in English, apostrophes denote possession and contractions

To be honest just about everything here makes my list.

I do get some really strange ones:

  • On looking at a broken laptop screen - "My son was downloading lots of stuff, could that have caused it?"
  • PC full of malware - it's always the kids faulty even when you find the installers on parents account on the PC.
  • I'm blamed when people install crap and the anti virus does not pick it up.
I also really hate people moving their music and pictures folders to the desktop, instead of creating links.

I have my quirks tho - when waiting on a program loading I tend to refresh the screen for no reason.

I also empty the recycle bin and the deleted emails as soon as I delete something.

Is this post a joke? Not only is it full of grammatical errors, but you're actually wrong.

Pluralise is a word:
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pluralise

It is also acceptable to use an apostrophe to pluralise certain initialisations or numbers:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostrophe#Use_in_forming_certain_plurals

i like how you're using wiktionary and wikipedia to back yourself up

anyway, the only mistakes you'll find in my post are punctuation and (the lack of) capitals. this is because i'm posting on a forum and don't think they're necessary

regarding pluralise, i stand corrected. having looked this up in a proper dictionary i'll happily say that it's a word. still doesn't stop it from sounding retarded :p
as it's a technical term i'd argue that make plural is better for every day use

regarding your wikipedia source, the article even states, "For groups of years, the apostrophe at the end cannot be regarded as necessary, since there is no possibility of misreading. For this reason, most authorities prefer 1960s to 1960's"
i'm not going to start the Wikipedia debate, but just because it's written on the internet doesn't make it true.
but if we were to use wikipedia as an accurate source of information, the article quite clearly states that most authorities are against the use of apostrophes in this way.

Too many icons on the desktop, actually makes me feel slightly sick.

Well you will also be pleased that I have cleared everything except for 2 items.

I feel naked.

This would drive me insane. Why on earth do people feel the need to have folders on their Desktop.

You would not put a filing cabinet on your desk would you !:confused::confused::confused:

The desktop is nothing more than a temporary folder for me. Its easy to navigate to, and I can remember where I left a file or folder location wise on my desktop easily. It makes it ideal for quick easy access.

Pictures please ! (Desktop)

I should warn you that I saved this picture to my desktop...

You were hoping I would take a picture of my nakedness... Unfortunately I am fully clothed.

People that buy £1000+ TVs, then don't configure the settings so you have a horribly bright image with whited colours
People stretching images to the wrong aspect ratio just to get the "full" screen

This! When people have the start button in places that it shouldn't be. I know it might be anal to say keep it at the bottom, but that is how I have it, so that is how it should be.

It just annoys me that every application other than Windows OS has the menu bar at the top :o

Theres loads, from cluttered desktop to deletion of a line of text just to correct one typo. Also hitting keys harder if something isn't working as expected.

My main gripe at the moment, is people referring to their computer as their 'Rig'.
