Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

LOL?

I mean come on.. There next gen cards are slower than the Titan?
What the hell is Nvidia doing?!

That statement is full of contradictions..... The new 780 will be 30% faster than the 680, when the titan is barly that anyway? yet it wont be as fast as the titan? EH?

The 780 was always going to be a refresh of the 680 from the very early rumours and the Titan is ~50% faster than a 680.

I expect Maxwell to stomp on the Titans though and this is where I will be looking for my next upgrades.

Good info cheers Kaap.

Good...good. If we see 680GTX at 480GTX prices (£200 ish) like we did last nvidia refresh i am going to be well chuffed.

480gtx is amazing but its power hungriness and noise are starting to grate on me.

This is Nvidia we're talking about, right? If the GTX780 is Titan LE then its probably going to rock up for about £600, so I wouldn't be surprised to see everything else go up in price as well.

Maybe I'm being cynical, but all I see here is Nvidia creating an opportunity for themselves to raise prices across the board. This isn't AMD fanboi rhetoric either, I have a GTX680 and think its a great card. But its still overpriced compared to AMD's comparable range.

CAT-THE-FITH posted this earlier in this topic.

I know this is pure speculation but they are quoting this...

Pricing unknown, but you should see prices anywhere between $499 and $599.

Which in rip off Britain should equate to £330 - £400

Again, pure speculation.

All good news for me who is still on single 5850 :p

Will be interesting to see what happens to current gen prices and if AMD also release 8000 series sooner prompted by the GTX 700 series (hopefully).

Your looking at Titan as if it were a mainstream piece of hardware. Titan is little more then a technology showcase, a novelty it was engineered not to make buckets of cash but as a way of bettering Nvidia's brand name and securing it's reputation as a leader and innovator of bleeding edge hardware.

If the 700 series is a few weeks away then AMD can't be far behind with it's revised 28nm chips. Saying that they have already flushed out the 7790 which is on GNC 2.

You're missing the point of what the market is willing to pay though.

Interesting, I didn't expect to see the 700 series so soon. It doesn't surprise me that the 780 is going to come in bellow the titan though. Theres no way NVidia would have released the titan at the price it did if the 780 could beat it a few months later.
