Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

Just for the gits and shiggles, to show it can be done.

I reckon if you went for the crossfire option with the A10 5800k it would be another £60 cheaper and probably faster still.

Apparently the thread on Chinese forums, which included GeForce GTX 780 and GTX 770 photos was removed. It’s a real shame, because it could provided more leaks. Anyway, here’s what I found on Chinese website.

The slide I found shows the ‘enthusiast roadmap’ including both Kepler and Kepler Refresh GPUs. You can clearly see which cards will the new GeForce 700 models replace. The GeForce GTX 780 packs GK110-300 GPU (that’s new, TITAN has GK110-400), while the GeForce GTX 770 features GK104-425. The third graphics card, which would be slower than GTX 670 has the GK104-225 silicon, and because no model name was included I presume that NVIDIA is still wondering how to name it (probably it will end up with the GTX 760 Ti anyway). There are also small footnotes on the chart: 5/23, 5/E and 6/M. I believe these are the launch dates: May 23rd, End of May, Middle of June. The Chinese guy who posted this chart also confirmed both launch dates for GTX 780 and GTX 770.

The other interesting part are obviously the memory configurations. The GTX 780 would make use of 3GB GDDR5 memory, while the GTX 770 might be equipped with 2GB, just as the GTX 680.

As for the questions you might ask. No, I didn’t made this chart, and no, I have not added anything besides the watermarks and some blurriness. I think this picture looks quite legit (considering how many fakes I’ve seen). The color-scheme and the fonts are correct. However, as always, treat it with a grain of salt. Maybe this is indeed a real chart from NVIDIA, but it may be old, so for instance, the launch dates could be different.

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that few large GPU databases changed the specs of GeForce GTX 770 to GK110. There are many people who actually believe that the GTX 780 and GTX 770 are in fact featuring the same processor, only in different iteration.

Stay tuned for more leaks!

From the above link

Interesting if correct, not long to wait now till we find out.

How quickly do water blocks tend to come out for new cards?
Really tempted to get a 670/680, possibly SLI, on water. But might hold off for a 7xx...
If anyone is thinking of selling their water cooled card(s), feel free to PM me :)

Please keep all buying/selling to the Members Market only! Thanks.

if leaks are correct when we have too see baby 780 for 23 may

as for specs 2496 cuda thats 13 cluster total

and 3 gb memory with 384 bit

and it will oc good

if it will cost 600 usd it will be steal

I think the 780 is going to be around 600 GBP if the wccf tech prices are to be believed. List price * exchange rate * VAT + normal price hikes.

I'm not sure if a card which may or may not perform better than a highly overclocked 7970 will be a steel at that price....

I suspect £600 for the 780 will be about right. No way will I pay anything like that amount for a video card even though I have the money to do so. Now if it was £400 I'd consider it. Must say I'm considering going AMD this time as I'm not impressed with nvidia's current price gouging.

I can't see the point in rushing out to buy anything as important as the GPU, especially at this price level, when the full-fat next-gen from both teams is so close.

If those prices/specs are accurate then the GTX770 will start at ~£350 and outperform the GTX680/HD7970, that's a pretty good deal.

I would agree with that but only if we where talking about it last year.
It's not enough progress in this length of time, especially if a 680 and 770 end up hitting the same overclocking wall...the performance has been at that level this whole time and as for price it's not far off what someone waiting for sales and coupons would have got it for anyway.

This. I only paid £199 for my 7970. Missing this round of cards out and waiting for the next rounds I think.

In fact, it's been poor for years. Previous to the 7970 I had two gtx470's in SLI and the 7970 isn't really a massive upgrade. Yet again, the gtx470's only cost me £300 for the pair.

We need another 8800GTX!

Got a feeling the Maxwell based GTX 880 will be a big jump.. Followed by a small refresh, after that a mahoosive jump with Volta, memory bandwidth triple of the current GTX Titan.

wait till next Xmas when they're all out and then decide what to do...

but one is waiting for a massive upgrade on the 7970 and not just 10 or 25% more powerful, much more....

what about the 7990?......too old, it should have been released last year, i'm after more like an 8990 dual or an 9990 dual.
