Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

Can't see it, if specs are legit and it's basically a 680 OC then charging £500 would be ridiculous, what next 760 for £400? even though Nvidia like to rip-off the consumer, I can't see them going that far, I'll stick at £400.

Don't get me wrong, I hope I'm well off the mark.

Just got a inkling with the prices :(

Well considering anything above a GTX660 right now has terribad price/performance ratio, I wouldn't hold your hopes up for 770/780 being cost effective XD

They are just premium products aimed at people who have the money to afford the best, and don't care about cost effectiveness.

I can understand the Titan being overpriced as it is all about out and out performance, but if the cards below it are also overpriced I really do hope people go over to AMD to get much better value for money.

Agreed, I'm hoping Nvidia aren't going to fleece us on the 7XX series, really all the cards from the 770 down are looking like rebadged/reworked cards so only the GTX 780 (Based on GK110) should command a premium. 770 around £285 and I'll it'll be reasonable. Over £300 and they are just selling the 770 (680) at the original 680 price. I will wait for AMD's new stuff if that is the case..

if the Titan LE is setting a new price point for the 780 then it's bad news for all of us... No doubt Ati will follow as it gives them an excuse to charge more as well. But £400 for a 770 is ridiculous... (if it is to be believed).

It use to be like this with the price points back in the day with something like an ATI 9800xtx. I bought from Asus. Came in a big a*s box and set me back over 5000 DKK (Danish Kroner) which would be something like 570 quid today.

imo..

the 780 will be £529
the 770 will be £439

At those prices I would stick with my 660's right up until AMD can offer something with better bang for buck.

Sometimes wander if Nvidia will price themselves off the market, their prices are right on the edge of where even the most loyal fan is questioning whether to buy or not..

If they do it again with the 7XX series and they are indeed mostly rebadged, I think there may be a bit of consumer backlash, i.e no one will buy them..

GTX 770 @ £285, come on Nvidia you know it makes sense :D

£285 for the GTX770 is still too high, if looking over AMD offering 7950 with 3GB vram and 384-bit bus plus free games for just £230.

Frankly the GTX770 needs to be at least no higher than the 7950 to compete (more like should be £210-£220).

We must be dreaming here, if it comes true though i will surely trade in my 680 and buy 2 of these instead!!!

Not gonna happen, considering people that are in the know would just buy a GTX770 instead of a 2nd hand GTX680 (which is a lower than stock clock GTX770).

Exactly, seems like a lot of us won't be upgrading till amd show their hand and hopefully at a better price point too. Or we'll just keep buying previous gens when new gens come out to keep prices down on our end. Forget release prices if they're going to keep rising like this.

I remember not long ago when a 5870 was only around £300 brand new when it was in its prime! I remember clearly because i had 3 of them lol.

IIRC you can modify the voltage with a custom GPU Bios. I did it on my 670 but the extra volts really didn't help the clocks at all.

670's would unlock to 1.212v maximum though?

The GTX 770 is (rumored) stock 1.3v, I'm confident it'll be clocked much higher out the box, and more overclocking potential, that will be the selling point of the 770, GTX 680 beating performance and more overclocking. Whereas the GTX 780 will be a beast probably with fairly conservative clocks out the box to not step on the Titan's toes. Again I think the 780 might offer better overclocking than even the Titan if the voltage has been increased..
