Wont be suprised if these are very little an improvement of what is currently on offer.

(Have been away for a couple of days)
Where did they get the 'Venus HD 8970' specs from? is there any evidence it actually exists?
Those are the "placeholder" specs a few hardware tools are using wouldn't put too much stock based on that alone as to what if anything the 8970 will be.
So in my shoes 2xEVGA GeForce GTX 670 Superclock w/Backplate 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card gaming on a 30" screen at 2560x1600 what would you do?
2304 cuda 384 bit 3gb
thats right guys
of course it will oc min 1100 mhz without problem
in usa it will cost no more than 600 baxs
Lets hope that equates to "only" (600/1.5)+VAT = £480!

We know there's going to be a massive price hike for the next couple of months..
2 X GTX 760 Ti's (GTX 670's) at launch will be best bang for buck imho. Then price drops will hit when AMD counter..
Probably pick up a GTX 780 for £350 in 6 months?
Being blatantly honest, the 780 should be around £450 max in my opinion. At that price, I can see plenty of sales if it is ~25% faster than a 680.
I think this price speculation on the GTX 700 series is optimistic.
I can't see the GTX 780 coming in at the same price as the GTX 680, especially with a GK 110 chip on it and a Titan cooler which Nvidia know will be a huge deal to a lot of people, its also not in line with Nvidia's recent pricing structure.
Nvidia know the masses will pay through the nose just because it has GK 110 written in the specs. The Titan cooler will be just as titillating to them.
Nvidia know what they can sell it for, there is no reason for them to sell it for anything less.
Don't get your hopes up.
No way NV prices will drop ~£450->£350 in 6 months! That's around 20% reduction.
So the plan is to buy two 7XX midrange cards, enjoy the summer (Won't be gaming as much anyway). Then in the winter months at end of the year pick up some better priced high end cards..

What an absolute waste of money that is.
