Buying the better bang for buck cards is a waste of money?
Um, k whatever
I think he meant buying two 760ti's which will still be overpriced for their performance and then switching to high end cards later on which will still be overpriced.

Wise words
780 at launch will not be had for less than £600 - more likely £650 plus (IMHO)

Maybe, from what I've seen the 760 Ti's are just rebranded GTX 670's with higher clocks. So even at launch prices will be good bang for buck, certainly better than the GTX 780's / Titan etc.
During the summer I won't be gaming much anyway, but my 660's are taking a whooping in Metro LL later levels so I do need an upgrade already lol. Just not willing to spend crazy money..
If the 780 comes in around £420 then that isn't too bad at all, I'll still wait till release to believe it though.
Stick it out for the sake of spending another £700 to move ONE card up, to play the end of Metro Last Light.
To then go and blow another £1200 or so on another two high end cards when Maxwell or AMDs VI arrive in 2014; 7-8 months later.
I'd rather hold out until Maxwell, get SLI & triple monitor. You even say so yourself you won't be gaming as much in the summer anyway!

Looking at his rig he probably has a pretty big disposable income anyway... What do I care, only trying to offer advice. Sorry if that offended you.
Mine,
3960X = £500
GTX 660 SLI =£200
X79 UD5 Gigabyte = £80
32GB DDR3 = £120
Hard drives SSD's + Spinner = £250
Case = £70
PSU = £70
Monitor = £200
Total = £1500
You'd be surprised how much people pay for their parts.
He made a thread on it, just check his threads created.
Buying two midrange cards to then upgrade to two high ends is a strange way of doing it i must admit...would have saved money keeping the Titan if that was the case.

What we are not sure yet, are the launch price and the exact GPU configuration (number of ROPs).

I bought the 660's really cheap, there only struggling to keep up with things like Metro LL and Crysis 3 etc, so it's time to upgrade but I don't wanna spend stupid money.. Two 760 Ti's will be a big step up from two 660's. I really don't know why it's become a big discussion lol.. I will get them and then change them out for ever better value comes along later.. Can we move on now lol .
