Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

Is a GTX 680 at £299 gonna be a similar price / better performance than a GTX 760 ti??

Big price drops already... Hmm..

Gtx680 should be faster than a 760 ti as the gtx770 sounds like its gonna be around or just above gtx680 performance. On the price it would just be a guess but really the 760ti should be under £300. If its not it will be a pure fail.

Seen brand new 680's going for £299, not sure if pair of them might be better deal than a pair of 760 Ti's?

Another thing is just seen the final 780 spec, it's pretty damn impressive, not far off the Titan. Thinking it may be better to grab one 780 now then add another later when the price hike has gone down...

Hmm.

That's a good price for a gtx680. The rumor's pretty much expect the 760ti to be a gtx670. Either way it won't be much faster or slower than a gtx680.

It all depends on the price of gtx780. It's got a very nice spec and should be a good gaming card for a while to come.

Ah ok, I was considering pulling the trigger on the 680's but if you reckon the 760 Ti's won't be much slower / faster, it's worth waiting. I want to see the GTX 780 price as well, because I may just settle for one 780 now then add another later on when prices settle down..

Nvidia surely have to take the approach of tempting people away from the 7900 series, silly pricing could kill it, sub £500 would be a win tbh.

If by some miracle I cam get a ref card for £400 I'll buy one to have a tinker with.

Dunno if this has already been posted, but just noticed this.

780 20% increase on 680.

Worth pointing out that those are synthetic tests, so while good indicators on a performance increase we really need to see game results for proof.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think they will cost more than that

I hope you are wrong too. Frankly a 20% increase in performance (assume that pans out in games) for 50%+ more in cost than a GTX680 currently retails for would be madness, but these are the times we live in.

IF and thats a BIG IF they price them lower than expected they could do what AMD did last generation, gain some decent market share before AMD hit back with their new cards.

Nvidia must think we are mugs. The price of these cards is going to be crazy, for what is a relatively modest increase over a card AMD initially launched a long time ago. I will wait for the reviews but it all seems a little silly to me.

There should be no harm in waiting as the gtx670/760 is not much slower than a gtx680. Clock speeds will make it faster or slower than a gtx680. You can always pick up some cheap gtx680/670's if the rumor's are false.

Any prospective buyers of the 780 prepared to pay up to £600? or prepared to pay more? or prepared to pay less?

£400 - £450 Maximum for moi.

£600 would be a total joke, you could get two 7970's for that.

Yeah I'm gonna wait it out and see what happens to all the prices (:

£400 = I'll definitely get it

£400 to £500 = I'll think about, decide it's too expensive. Then get it a week later.

£500+ = Won't get it

If the Titan had been a Ltd run card, then a lower price for the 780 could have been expected.

Pricing the 780 too competitively would/could harm Titan sales, and I just don't see them doing that.

I think 3gbs of vram for the GTX 780 in the specs makes sense, this allows it to use the same PCB layout and cooler as the Titan.

I would be interested to know if this also allows someone buying a GTX 780 to use a Titan waterblock which would give the option to watercool from day one.

1) Someone on another forum commented saying that the GTX 780 in SLI would be bottlenecked by the 8x/8x bandwidth provided by most motherboards out there.

Is there any truth to this?
I really don't think so.

2) Anyone know the power requirements of the GTX 780?
I'm thinking of SLI-ing them at some point but only have a 750w Corsair PSU (5yrs old). Doubt it would be able to cope.

That's pretty much exactly my thinking :)
