Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

I'm really surprised that the GTX 780 turned out to be that strong a competitor to GTX Titan... that makes my plans at going for GTX 670 4GB 3-way-SLi quite speculative... Maybe GTX 780 3GB SLi would be a better choice after all.

Meh, 27% over a 7970, I can make most of that up :p

Price is the decider on if these are good or not, it is pretty damn close to a titan though, wonder how they clock with the titan extras cut off?

Hmm pay over £500 for 30% increase average now or wait another year and pay probably same price and get a further 30% increase in performance (guessing)?

Just seems to me the performance gain doesn't justify the price.

And i doubt the 780 will launch for less than £500. I say £550 plus or more since titan is priced so highly.

Lets see tomorrow!

I was already toying with the idea of getting a 7950, but since you guys have been talking about these great deals, it's got me trawling the net trying to find the best value!

What brand 7950's are you guys going for?

Just getting prepared for disappointment on pricing for the 780!

I went for 3 x Gigabyte Windforce 7950 3GB's. Nice warranty and games bundle. I expect those 3 to destroy the 780 and probably near enough the same price :p.

But we have voltage control - all .37v of it :D

I want a lot more control than that, but I don't think the 780 will have *any* extra voltage controls if it's already THIS close to Titan. It would destroy a Titan with voltage control... I think I'll see what AMD bring to the table.

I'd like to see how 3 of those things perform. I'm planning on getting two and I think that's enough to own pretty much anything out there atm.

What's the cooling like when you crossfire those cards? I heard they were bad at crossfire cooling on some other forums.

Thanks!

Agreed on the voltage.

As for how close to a Titan the 780 is, tomorrow will reveal all.

Nvidia has all but killed off overclocking :(

The Titan matches 2x670s doesn't it? If so, then a good clocking 780 will perform as good as my 2 670s... Note to self: stop talking yourself into upgrading.

I just need voltage, I would hate to upgrade, pay so much to get em under water to be able to push it a measly 20mhz faster. :o
