That would put it at ~£515 including VAT at straight conversion rate. I would expect another 5-10% gouge added to that as well.

Cheaper than expected though given how close a run for its money it appears to give Titan.

^^ Some places may have 780's for under £500 then, really isn't that bad for a launch price of a new flagship Nvidia card. To expensive for moi but I'm sure these they will sell a ton of these @ £500.

Defo mate, they will sell incredibly well.

Likewise, it isn't for me - have already got a 7970 with waterblock and adding 2nd so that will last me a good 12-18 months, so will see what is around or just on the horizon GPU wise 4th quarter 2014/ 1st quarter 2015 all going to plan.

Won't be under 500 pounds.. graphics cards always cost more in the UK compared to other EU countries. If its typical price is 599 euro it will be around 550 pounds (~640 euro)

I'm not sure which part of "comparing performance only" you don't understand. I'm well aware of the cost side of things.

As the 670 was so close to the 680 the 770 was never likely to be much faster than a 670 IMO. The 770 replaces the 670. In performance terms it replaces the 680 but hierarchically it replaces the 670 as the second highest spec part. Prices won't be too dissimilar to 670 launch prices by the looks of things.

If retailers tried that though would customers just not buy from France or somewhere? its not like it will cost 140 euro to ship....

Hierarchy wise the 770 replaces the 680 and the 760 replaces the 670, the 780 is a new tier in the hierarchy.

No it doesn't. The 770 replaces the 670 as the second top end part. The key is in the number. When you have different series being sold at different times performance hierarchy gets muddled but from a pure line up point of view '70 replace '70.

You're thinking in performance terms. I'm talking hierarchically on a "this is our line up" perspective.

That's the price for a reseller, so you are looking at wholesale pricing. End users will pay more.

I think I'll be having one if they arrive under £600, their rumoured proximity to Titan performance and the sale of my 680 should just about make it worth while for me. Its a shame my post count still isn't high enough for MM though.

Great marketing from nVidia nonetheless. Bring a card that has a wow factor and an inzane price tag, just to release a card that is almost there, but at 40% of the cost, making it look cheap.

Actually if you actually read my posts in the previous pages, I've been saying all along that the 770 should be replacing 670, not the 680...but ubersonic pointed out that Nvidia is insisting the 770 is replacement for 680, and the the 780 is a "new tier" on its own which IMO is BS, considering it is only marginal faster than "last gen's" GTX680. When they are trying to replace a x80 teir with a x70, they are just trying to find an excuse to inflat the price of their products. The 770 should really be coming in at 670's price, not the 680's. Gibbo has already confirmed that the 770 is gonna be at 680's price range, so that's £360-£400 ish, which was higher than 670's launch price.
