Nobody is forcing people to buy them. If the market doesn't reject the pricing then... ?
They sure are laughing all the way to the bank. But the 780 does look good tho if reports are anything to go by! We shall see soon hopefully.

hmmmm I might be eating my words... I know I said I would skip this series & possibly go AMD 8/9 series. But these 780 benchmarks & game performance when compared to Titan are pretty amazing.

Not saying they are just pointing out that the Titan raised the pricing on Nvidia GPU's. Now the 780 comes along it appears to offer better value but in reality it is still overpriced by quite a margin.
I'm hopefully buying two today as well...

Payday in two weeks, so its either a 780 or a 7970, just need to hope prices are gonna reasonable.

I don't think so in this case, a premium is paid for the Apple brand. There are legions of Apple addicts.
Apple have a really strong brand, and they know it.

Going off topic here, but you do realize that an iMac is actually about the same cost as a "PC" built with comparable parts of equal quality? this has been proven many times on this forum.
And with regards to the GTX780 overpriced is again in the eye of the beholder, IMO its on a tier above the 7970/680 so should be priced as such. its not like it isn't common for a card that stands above the rest to cost more as Titan does (The Voodoo 5 6000 was >$800 in today's money, and the MARS I/II? whoa) and the GTX780 stands closer to Titan than the 7970/680.
