Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Yes, but there have always been a couple of versions of the Titan cards, I bet there will only be one this time, because one is already out there under the 2080Ti moniker.

If it was the Titan NVidia would call it the Titan and charge extra for it.

NVidia are selling the 2080 Ti for £1099 which is less than the last few Titans, so definitely not positioned as the new Titan.

How many hours gaming do you guys do? Because to spend upwards of £1000 on a GPU you'd need to really get some good use out of it!!
Depends really. I've bought some top end GPU's in the past and gone months without gaming but it's nice to have one available to use when I've fancied some gaming. I've bought a few cheaper ones too and always felt they were a compromise, wishing I had just paid more for something better. Some folks have bought a real bargain buying my old GPU's (lightly used)
Waste of money not using an expensive GPU for months? Not really but depends what's important to people. I consider buying Costa coffee for say £2.5 a waste but others do not. One coffee, 5 times a week, 80 weeks = £1000. And lets not talk about £1000+ for a phone :).
Atm I'm only using a £420 GPU. One thing I personally like is GeForce Experience and the auto-config of game settings. I use that now and if the gaming experience is sufficient, I'm still happy with the GPU.
I like to escape reality sometimes (don't we all ? :) ) so having a decent GPU to help optimise that experience is something I don't mind pay more for.

Here is a link to some performance numbers. Again, a pinch of salt to be taken before reading :p

It's Nivdia's figures and comparing an FE 1080ti/1080 with an FE 2080 and 2080Ti.

To give an example, In the link above the 1080ti gets 57fps in the Witcher 3. But, I have seen reviews of 1080Ti's getting 65+ in the same game.

So these figures should make some people happy, or not.

That is better performance than I expected. If confirmed a 2080 and Ti a their non-FE prices ($699/$999) are priced about right if you want to maintain the status quo in terms of performance/$.

For me going from R9 390X to 2080Ti.... :) (my wife not so much she is going from 980Ti to 2080Ti - which is still huge leap for her but not as much as mine). Very much looking forward to October 8th.
