Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

if that was fake i would have put more fps to attract more people

Doesn't make much sense as you don't see the framerates until you watch the video anyway. You literally get videos like this every release with barely any information alongside it, for all we know it's just a Titan V being benched against a 1080ti as the figures line up.

Well my EVGA 2080Ti has officially been delayed by the place I bought from until the 27th. So looks like Gregster was correct, even though the language in the press release made it sound like pre orders would be fulfilled up and until the 27th. I guess we will see if anyone has had their 2080Ti before that date. Time will tell.

My EVGA delayed too until 27th. Though I've found the same model cheaper and they've still got 20th as the date listed on their site and I am just about close enough for collection. Probably delayed too though.

I thought most people were saying to expect the 2080 to be 20% faster on average than a 1080ti and the 2080ti to be upto 40-50% faster..

The 2070 should trade blows with the 1080ti, and hopefully be cheaper.

No idea where you got the impression that a new GPU would give you 3x times the performance of the last one at 4k

Well if they sell 4k/144hz monitors that was the reason, with the 1080 ti you can get 4k/60 in many games (not everything on ultra I guess) but even with the 2080ti with not ultra settings there is no way to get to 144fps with that performance

Exactly, 50% for the 1080 ti vs 2080ti, I am really thinking about the 2080 you get a bit extra on top of the 1080ti and the DSSL that will help a lot, and then wait for the 7nm revision that will add more shaders and tensor cores like crazy

They sold 4k/60hz monitors when the GTX 780 was the flagship GPU and barely got 30fps at 4k.

Are people really going to put much stock in most reviews? I'd use them as a base and wait for real user reviews in all honesty as a lot of the reviewers are extremely biased one way or another.
dunno.. there are a few i trust..

"Tiny" Tom Logan i usually trust for instance. In the past he has been quite happy to reccomend AMD or nvidia cards and whilst he is no doubt sponsored by some companies, he is also happy to recommend stuff that he isnt on commission for

Lol,

Come 2.30pm this thread is going to be filled with two types of people, those that have come to realise that they've thrown away £1200 on cards that are barely faster than what's come before and really wish they'd waited for reviews, and those that, to save face, will pretend to everyone here that they've made a sound purchasing decision and regret nothing.

Patience, as well as virtue, saves you from very expensive mistakes.

Really? I was playing happily at 4k with a 780 Ti and if I dropped AA (not really needed) and played on a mixture of medium and high settings (mostly high) on games of the day, then I got 50-60 fps.

Is 2.30 pm when they can release the bench marks was wondering when they are dropping?
