Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

The transition at 1:33/1:36 is odd. The amount of light on the ceiling with ray tracing on seems very high, IMO RTX off looks more realistic

It's probably like what was done with battlefield v, the effects are cranked up to make them more noticeable. Dice said a few weeks back they were dialling them back to try and improve frame rate.

Here we go boys and girls it's going to get busy today - hope you've all had a good nights sleep and your keyboards are well rested, lets see if all 9154 posts mostly bad have been worth it.

Are people really going to put much stock in most reviews? I'd use them as a base and wait for real user reviews in all honesty as a lot of the reviewers are extremely biased one way or another.

Paid 715 for my Asus dual 2080 OC , now just seen its up at 830 now .... There's either something to be said for pre ordering immediately or something to be said about how bad the price gouging is . feel bad for anyone wanting one but having to fork out an extra 115 quid on top of an already crazy price .

Yeah i bought the Duke 2080ti drom OCUK for £1050, soon after its at £1249. I saw this happen all the way back with 1080 release so i figured I'd be quick ;)

I mainly just want the performance though, hopefully RTX games have an option where you can turn it on just indoors or something otherwise I'll probably just never turn it in anyway :D

Yeah, i would have got strix like i did for the 1080s but not with the higher starting price this time for no good reason

Those prices are just mad, but Asus wouldn't charge them if people didn't pay them so good luck to those people!! We'll all stick to the cards that offer better value (and in the case of MSI, looks like better cooling too!) :)

Well my EVGA 2080Ti has officially been delayed by the place I bought from until the 27th. So looks like Gregster was correct, even though the language in the press release made it sound like pre orders would be fulfilled up and until the 27th. I guess we will see if anyone has had their 2080Ti before that date. Time will tell.
