Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

DLSS could be worth it given an aggressive enough push from Nvidia to incorporate as many games as possible (especially if they add older demanding games as well, not just new ones going forward, e.g. DX:MD, Crysis 3, SotTR etc).

RT on the other hand, I just don't see it yet, performance isn't there even on a 2080 ti let alone the other cards.

Then again, it's not like there's much choice here. Except perhaps waiting 2 more years for Navi & 7nm Turing.

I think that's what DLSS is for. To bring the performance when RT is applied back up again.

Think I'm out after hours of reading today, it's on average at 25-35% increase at 1440p (I run 3440*1440) over a 1080ti, for me on an AIO Xp that's realistically a 15-25% and even though I can sell my Xp it's still not worth the £500 I'd have to put down for that IMO.

If in a few months time, BF5 runs 100fps with full Ray tracing effects turned on and drivers bring more FPS I'll buy one at this point. But for now I can only see the benifits of this card making my favourate games unplayable. I'd rather just not have the option and the money in my bank for something else.

Well, that's because they are pretty much identical in performance. It will take games using DLSS to separate them.
I agree with you 100%, but that surfer dude says otherwise
Written review is on the oc3d website with all benchmark results.

And yet circuit surfer claims a significant performance boost for 2080 ....riiiiight

They did say "light years ahead" remember... alien technology, this is the proof we've all been waiting for, I tell you! Illuminati is real!

Wait until they integrate a Tegra CPU,then it won't need any CPU! Level 1 alien tech confirmed!!

RTX on or RTX off??

:p

Go look at my forum posts I never claimed such things. I always maintained the 2080 is only 5-10% higher than 1080ti which is in line with benchmarks???

you've done nothing but whinge and insult people who have simply said the 1080Ti is the same performance as a 2080. Which it 100% IS as proven by everyone who has replied to you.

With 20 posts into this forum you're doing a good job at making friends well done...

Disagreeing and providing counterpoints supported by evidence is not insulting. Slandering someone and calling then names is, which only i have received for simply defending my preorder. If this is how new members are treated then I'd rather be billy no mates. The toxicity being directed at anyone with a positive thing to say about 2080/Ti is absolutely mind-boggling.

Shame that Dice have come out and said they're only supporting RTX's implementation atm* ;) :D

*Discliamer - Unless I was heavily drinking at the time and imagined it

Its DICE,if anyone flashes enough money they will probably support anything!! Wait until Intel starts sponsoring them!! :p

Edit!!

Read the link, its about CPUs when RTX is used BTW.
