Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

There are almost 20,000 people waiting for the stream to start on twitch and there's still just under 2 hours to go. I wonder what percentage is barely out of the millennial bracket. Just seems like an incredible amount of people if you think back only 5 to 10 years ago what interest you'd get.

I was responding to someone asking if nVidia was holding anything back. The answer is clearly "yes, a lot".

And yes, it does matter to anyone interested in technology beyond short-term "I want the fastest GPU right now" thinking.

Despite the fact that it's always possible that "held back" full cores never actually appear (e.g. because of yield of such large parts).
