General Courier Moans Thread

What's the situation when courier takes parcel to someone a few doors down and is never there when you call? Asking for a friend. She even popped a note saying I am at home after 5pm every day. It's been like this for a week.

This is why I refuse to take post in from other people

People that moan about delivery companies but will order a pint of milk or something equally insignificant to be delivered to their house because they are just plain lazy. Then wonder why their deliveries are late because equally like minded people have done the same thing and the roads are clogged.

I say Just Eat is short for “Just get off your backside you lazy sod and visit a shop or takeaway if you want something to drink or Eat”

Last month- I was at a pedestrian crossing by a coffee shop- part of a chain. A Just Eat courier came out of it and went to his moped. I let him through. Bearly 50m down the road- moped turned right. This right turning is just 50-60 council flats.

Should rename just eat to “ Lazy ***** “

Did you say the same about people who phoned the takeaway before just eat et al appeared?

Someone who has been working hard all day, gets in from work knackered, fancies a night off cooking so orders a takeaway and that makes them lazy?

You do understand that not everybody drives, right? But then if everybody did drive you'd be on here whining about it for some reason or other.

Yes because if they had a stable home the food would be hot on the table ready for them.

Never again DPD.
This is the damage done to the item I sold. Shipped in it's lego box.

Although evri etc have been slow and late. I've never had anything as bad as this from any courier!

I accept that - I am one of those! Probably do this 4-5 a year.

Its the ones that do multiple orders each week. Friend who works for another supermarket chain is a JE outlet. Bumped into her whilst she was doing an order. Showed me the receipt of the order. Shows how many JE orders the customer has done along with the number of orders of the outlet. It was 2100 and 135. The supermarket has only been doing JE for about 7 months. Then gets orders for a single item. 2 pint milk is £1.20 in store. With the fees and more expensive price - this is £4.58!
Another time a colleague did a £118 shop which if they did online shopping - can have this, it would be about £82. The thing is couriers turn up immediately without warning and was being abusive towards the colleague on the CSD. Unsure if they have details on how much shopping is involved on the order they are collecting.

Those who order almost everything on JE and others have more money than sense.

Given the knife in the background that could have easily have been done by the person opening it.

Its possible but I don't think so. I have had so many issues with this delivery. I also open parcels with a knife.

They've accepted a small discount for it. Ie small enough that it's worth it for me to send and not worth it for them as a scam.
I based the discount on the return cost I'd have to meet. Risk of it all going wet if, And sending it out again. Especially as it was sold on a 80pc listing fee discount.

Also. One good thing. I believe once they accept the offer that's done. They can't then open another case.

Not sure on that one.

Well. I've opened up an investigation.

The courier compensation process is a bit ridiculous. You need very specific pictures that the buyer obviously doesn't care about. They've got their refund. I've also been told the buyer needs to keep the packaging.

Basically they won't pay out because they know it's so hard to provide the evidence.

Well. Dpd will have lost a customer if they don't payout. I'm only asking for the partial refund I had to give the buyer.

I will update when I know.

Is there damage to the contents inside?

So far I'm not overly impressed with UPS this week, they've had a package out for delivery 3 days running. But it's fine it's only a next day package. IIRC this has happened about 50% of the time when i've had UPS packages, usually with the tracking not updating until sometime the next morning (and it seems to "hide" days when it's failed delivery by not showing that, but the retailer who sent the package has 3 sets of "out for delivery 14th December" on their page and it was out for delivery yesterday as well).

Meanwhile this week I've had Evri, RM, Fed-ex and Amazon all deliver on time, even if Amazon ended up sending two different trucks that arrived literally a minute apart today:)
I actually feel a bit sorry for couriers in my area at the moment, there are a bunch of roadworks, including one side of the road i'm on being dug up meaning drivers either have to try and pull into driveways or park further up and run down.

I moan about couriers, but I know it's usually not the actual drivers (unless they're throwing stuff into a pond), but management not allowing enough time/people and traffic.
