And your post is a perfect example of why we should have a referendum.

It works both ways and because you have some opinion you may be smarter than everyone else on the matter (trust me, you're not), shouting louder doesn't make it any more true.

That's the whole point of a representative democracy.

Either way you need to take that stick out your arse, twice in 1 page of this thread you've taken offense to light hearted jovial comments.

Rofl, where did I say I'm smarter than everyone else, making up more stuff.
Haven't taken offense to anything. Just saying your idea of what are democracy is about is utterly wrong. Referendum is not written into our democracy. It's not a right and you don't need it for a democracy to exist.

It's more than implied in your posts.

I can even see it in this post how offended you are (the added "rofl" confirmed it for me), it's quite amusing. But please, tell me more about how wrong I am :D

That's like saying poker is a game of chance... when we know the key with poker is how people play their hands. It boils down to how the SNP want to play their hand, unless the seats the Tories/Lib Dems get are significantly higher than projected. Obviously the stats are pointing to there being a great chance of there being a minority Labour government which is propped up by the various lefty parties... but we can't discount that the SNP can play their hand in a variety of ways, given Labour are saying they won't form a coalition with them and that means they'd be relegated to playing second fiddle and could have a ridiculously minor role in shaping policy, to their detriment with the electorate in Scotland.

That might be why the market give 40% odds to Cameron being power, but I don't an SNP deal from the Tories being likely. I think the 40% odds probably come about because there could be a reelection in which case the Tories have much better odds.

The SNP will definitely try and force the big 2 to come up with some, but whatever the Tories suggest Labour can match and the SNP will have a preference for a labour deal to block the Tories. Labour and SNo are ideologically much more similar.

The SNP want the Smith Commission reforms. They'll be quite happy not serving in government providing they get those. The extra powers it would give to Hollyrood largely negate not being able to shape UK-wide policy.

Or that's how it should go. It'll be interesting to see how the SNP behave after the election, as further devolution could sap the desire for independence in Scotland. A lot of people wanted 'Devo Max' as an option on the ballot sheet last year. A lot of people are likely to be content with the extra powers that have been promised this year. Will the SNP behave? Or are they secretly hoping for a Tory victory, given it brings them one step closer to independence? I look forward to finding out.

Why can't we ever have a likeable and commanding PM? The last one who was truly commanding was probably Maggie Thatcher. Other countries have cool leaders, Obama, Putin, Abbott, Mugabe.
Putin, Mugabe are likeable, commanding (ok) and cool?

Nicola Sturgeon?

Likeable? Hahahahahahaha, love it. Thanks for playing eddie!

Another reason to hope for no outright conservative majority - assuming we can trust Cameron to deliver a referendum. Hopefully a coalition can block that.

Why cant I have my vote on Europe, most of us want the vote, some want in some want out, so let us vote. Winner takes all

Because a small group of unelected European elites know what's best for you so pipe down and go back to your little people job!

Back to yesterday's debates, anyone care to guess what the "message" we're supposed to have got from David Cameron's performance?

Did he? I thought he merely referenced that bill the coalition passed a few years ago, where any further transfer of powers to the EU triggers a referendum?

TBH I didn't think he was very clear about anything during Question Time. Lots of waffle and he seemed rattled.

It's not up to me is it? I simply stated what I hoped will happen. I don't want an EU exit, therefore it stands to reason that I would not want a referendum.

Yes he said he supports and will have a referendum.

Please not Labour :( don't commit our country to another term of misery!

I've just watched question time and labour is a bit like the old USSR. Can we have a vote on the EU...NO

Cameron won that debate hands down. Labour lived beyond our means last time and they will do it again.

The main 3 parties are so whipped it's ridiculous, that's part of why i find UKIP so refreshing.

Having said that, i thought Cameron walked it to be frank and did the best and even Nick held his own on what should have been a disastrous performance. Milliband did the worst, it wasn't a total disaster but he was on very shaky ground for most of it and looked pressured especially when he was talking about Labours track record.

Clegg is extremely good at this. His party is a damp squib but he's good in this situation

I thought Clegg was best too. Honest responses to the questions and the most natural orator by far.

WTF is "cool" about Putin and Maugbe??? Putin is the biggest threat to Europe since Hitler and Maugbe is plain evil.

Indeed, Putin has masterminded the oppression of 140+ million Russians all his political life. And Abbott??? Didn't anyone see his giant f-up a few years ago?

"You're not saying anything Tony!"

Thanks for sharing.
