Yes, I can. I think he'll be a pretty decent PM.

Likewise. While I don't think he's particularly eloquent or polished, even awkward at times. But I think he has a passion for what he's doing, even if he sometimes comes across as less than fluid. Cameron's sense of entitlement to the job as his recent Freudian slip has shown just makes me think it's no more than a step on the career ladder. In 5 years time he will be doing the rounds buddying up with Tony Blair and taking in the money for his memoirs and contacts in high places.

God help us when Boris decides it's his time to have a go, he'll need an interpreter.

He would be our equivalent of George Bush, just a complete joker.

Ed's been the most effective leader of the opposition certainly in my living memory:

- Had the courage to take on Rupert Murdoch over BSkyB, unlike the SNP and the Tories who have pandered to him
- Stopped Britain going into another ill-thought through neo-liberal interventionist adventure in the middle-east
- Voted to recognise a Palestinian state

But turned a blind eye to Trinity Mirror hacking becasue they are pro Labour.
- Stopped Britain going into another ill-thought through neo-liberal interventionist adventure in the middle-east
But support the bombing of Libya
- Voted to recognise a Palestinian state
Yet ignores Israel's continuing breaches of international law.

Elections Etc have CON 289, LAB 257 today, not far off delta0's 290/267.

True, I end not to visit that site as their predictions always differ from the others. Doesn't mean they are wrong but I take some increased confidence when 5 or so forecasters are in the same ball park.

At the other end we have these forecasts:
May2015 is con 273 and labour 268
Poll Observatory is con 274 labour 272
Guardian is 274 to 270

And Election forecast 281 to 267

There is around 15-20 borderline Tory-Labour seats, and a primitive forecast willdistrubute those seats closer to the uniform swing which tends to put the tories ahead slightly right now but that isnt the best way to assign seats in a prediction.

Conversely historically there has been a shy Tory effect which tends to over represent labour. Good models will include this but the effect size is not known until election day itself.
There might be a similar shy UKIP effect, if UKIP vote higher than polled then the Tories may loose seats to them.

It's a thought that makes me feel quite sick.

Why are you some sort of drama queen?

I'll be voting Labour, I don't like David Cameron, the person or his parties ideology. But the thought of him doesn't make me feel sick. I realise that people have different values than I have and different views on what makes the country a decent place to live in. Just because I disagree with them doesn't mean I hate them or even dislike them. My mate is a roaring Tory, he's still my mate. Just makes it easier to take the Michael out of him. Of course he returns the favour.

So true. I find that people on the right of center seem far more likely to be less tolerant of others views. Hell I don't even think UKIP are racist, though they do seem to have more than their fair share of nutter supporters, and it does annoy me that people are shouted down as racist because they dare try and spark a debate on immigration, I don't agree with Farage on immigration but it doesn't make him racist because he pushes it as an issue for debate.

All this ****ging off of Ed Miliband, whom I am not a fan of as a politician personally, is a bit grinding. People on the right seem to be more deferential to what the leaders of their political party of choice do and say despite the evidence. Cameron makes promise after promise when in 2010 he said the Tories would cut net immigration but they didn't. Christ, I think even if Cameron made a deal with the SNP and had Sturgeon as deputy PM and another referendum for Scottish independence within the next 5 years Tory voters would turn a blind eye.

I have a bit [of money] now. Come on, Ed: tax me. Tax me till I fart. Build those million new homes, freeze the rents of young people, reopen the libraries and the Sure Start centres, bring in the living wage, cut tuition fees, send another arena full of furious, heartbroken, working-class teenagers to university and stand well back. Reinvest in our health service, collar the corporate tax evaders, dismiss the non-doms, scrap the bedroom tax, let teachers teach, ignore Rupert Murdoch because you owe him nothing and restore some sense of purpose and decency to our public life.

Link.

Good to see someone successful come out and say publicly. You can be rich and still in favour of good public services - even if it means paying more tax personally.

That is an almighty cop out.

If hacking is so deplorable, why hasn't he taken on Trinity Mirror?

 Because there was an inquiry and subsequent criminal investigation looking into that. Ed only took on Rupert Murdoch over his plans to take over BSkyB.

It'd be a real shame if two Murdoch controlled parties (Tories and SNP) ended up forming the majority of MPs in this parliament.

The whole time I was reading that quote, I was just waiting on the sarcastic finish. This forum, eh? I didn't realise it was from an outside source until I finished.

I'm with that guy tbh.
