Jeezz, I thought we had it bad. I've just been watching the NI TV debate. They're currently having a heated exchange about the rights of gay people to give blood.

I dont really follow politics and haven't been following the manifesto of each party to decide who to vote for...

I have never liked Boris Johnson though and as he is a Tory I've always favoured Labour.

Anyway I took the quiz on http://telegraph.votematch.org/ and it's matched me with labour too, just ahead of the conservatives, so guess that's decided then!

I was matched to Labour with that too. It must be broken :D

The voting system in this country is ridiculous, if we had proportional representation and AV+ we would never have the problem of coalitions. Only a few million people live in Scotland yet the SNP get's tons of seats, completely over represented.

Gave me greens . About as likely to vote for them as ukip.

Surprisingly for my area they have a huge amount of labour swing which is surprising for an area that's been Tory for 20+ years by a large margin.

BS.
If there was proportional representation then the entire government is effectively a single coalition.

More BS
Scotland has 8.5% of the UK population and at the most the SNP is expected to win 55 seats which is 8.5% of the 650 UK seats:rolleyes:

Id rather have a system we KNEW was going to be at least worthwhile, rather than propping up a turd.

Nonsense, read up on AV+ and STV. And Scotland is allocated more than 8.5% of the seats, the SNP are not the only party to win seats in Scotland.

Proportional representation massively increases the chance of coalitions.

I'd much rather PR and consensual government rather than the ridiculous situation where a party that gains 30-something percent of the vote can hold absolute power.

When it's implemented properly, you can pretty much eliminate coalitions with PR. The problem is our terrible system of FPTP and voting for candidates instead of parties.

Ignoring the fact you were talking about the SNP and not Scotland. We get about 9% of the seats. Hardly a massive over respresentation.

It is entirely possible that UKIP will win about 15% of the vote but have no MP's on Friday.

Well that UKIP candidate hidden camera about putting bullet in rival if he wins is a bit shocking, you cant say stuff like that, think of all the press who are out to get a story, they just got it
