General Filament Chat

I have the sunlu one which was around £35, seems to work quite well. Couldn't believe that the PETG I bought was 58% humidity when it arrived, sure enough it did spit and split until I dried it to 20%ish, worked perfectly afterwards.

I'll probably buy another one at some point.

Ah thanks, do you know what model one you have?

I might hold out to see if one comes up on Black Friday anywhere.

Whats everyones suggestion for a single spool (space is tight in the house) filament drier?
I started out with the Creality Filament Box Pro drier for my P1S, which is a single spool machine. Very simple to use and did the job - however the viewing angles on its LCD were poor and since I had it situated on the floor (at the time) I had to bend down to see the display. I have this stashed away when it's replacement below dies.

I then realised I really needed a twin drier so I grabbed the Creality Filament Pi Dryer Plus unit. It has a waaaay better display that annoyingly has pressure sensitive buttons so a bit finicky in use. Functionality wise both machines did the job well and both are frequently on sale.

I didnt even know about that, is that a single standalone unit that dries but also would allow my A1 mini to print another colour?
Standalone unit that dries (including ABS and stuff that needs a higher temperature) although needs the AMS Hub on A1 series printer.

I don't think it allows a 2nd colour, as I think it would replace the existing external spool (but I may be wrong)

(It is forward/cross compatible with all the "bigger" printers e.g. P2S etc so if you did upgrade later it's still compatible)

Ah ok, ill have to take a look at that! Thanks for the suggestion

@Armageus do you use the HT? Need to grab a dryer and plan on adding the HT to a future A1 upgrade, if I grabbed to HT now can it be used as a standalone dryer?
Unfortunately I don't think it will work as a standalone dryer as it needs to be connected and managed via the printer control panel.
