German Grand Prix 2010, Hockenheimring Circuit - Race 11/19

What are the penalties for team orders? I don't think I've ever actually seen anyone done for it since the rule came in so not sure what severity of penalty there can be?

Its happened multiple times this season already with no punishment, implied team orders. They should have just stuck Massa on the worst fuel saving mode.

Probably best that the director stays away from the leaders and concentrates on the actual race.

I do think it's good for F1 that Ferrari are back up in the lead but nobody want's to see this crap. The FIA should take the constructors points off them and give both drivers the same points.

What I don't understand is why Massa accepted it, what are Ferrari gonna do fire him??

Well yeah, they have Fisi who could race the rest of the season. And TBH i think they they put Fisi in the car for the rest of the season, he'd probably finish on more points than Massa lol

Alonso moans about race fixing, then gets a race fixed for him.

Its happened for Hamilton already this season and no one on here cried about it. Button was given a clear message not to have another run at Hamilton. EJ even alluded to this enough times.

EJ is a hypocrite anyway or has he forgotten spa?

On a random thought, how is the team orders rule worded?
It could be argued that taking Mark Webbers wing off him last week was team orders in order to give another driver an advantage. And TBH i don't think what happened here is as bad as taking the wing off Webber.

And time and time again Massa has been in front of him.

lol holding him up due to issues or poor luck. Even with a dead gearbox Alonso was on his tail. Anyone who even remotely suggests Massa has been near the pace of alonso this year even when he's been infront isn't looking deep enough into the lap times and whats happening.

Even when Alonso has started at the back he's caught up with his team mate time and time again.

I tihnk its becuase the Hamilton/Button one was much better coded. Since Hamilton had been told he needed to conserve it was highly possible that Button would need to do the same. Most people accepted that what was said was what was going on. This one was just blatent.

All of which is irrelevant if your team orders to slow down.

why would Smedly get suspended? he its following managers orders. Both he and Massa didn't want to do that...

Because what Smedly said and how he said it is going to be the whole basis of and inverstiation (if it happens).

Like it or not Smedly works for Ferrari and he is there for the good of the team. If his deliberate actions result in a punishment, then he will (arguably should) be punished too.
