German Grand Prix 2010, Hockenheimring Circuit - Race 11/19

Well that was down to the wire!!!

It would have been nice to see Telfonso take #1, even if only to stop the finger wagging!!!

And well done Button!! He pulled one out of the bag, and I think it'll do him wonders for tomorrow, genuinely pleased for him.

Poor old Webber!.. but I'm sure he'll find some way to entertain tomorrow with his driving antics.

Lewis hasn't had a great weekend, relative lack of practice, and you can tell he just couldn't get any more out the car, probably just this weekend, so nothing really to read into it, I just hope tomorrow, He and Button give some respect to each other and don't clash.

:)

Today wasn't at all bad for McLaren, they've got the exhaust blown diffuser working without any negatives - they can now work on extracting the benefit from it - so should improve over the next few races.

And the fact that the car worked for both Jenson and Lewis shows that it is still very drivable, visually it still doesn't appear as stable as the Red Bull or Ferrari, but that's where the development will be heading.

The start tommorrow will be critical, I'd expect Massa to move backwards during the race (considering the ammount of offs he had during practice and qualifying), and and incident between a Red Bull or Ferrari could get a McLaren on the podium.

to be honest thats a bit of an excuse if you ask me, he was right on it in 2nd practice yesterday and this morning, he was just beaten fairly by his team mate (on a dry track too) - when his team mate seems to prefer the car heavy with fuel too!!

Really hope Alonso shows his usual stubbornness at the first corner against Vettel and they tangle - because I really think Massa will go backwards with a heavy car under him

Webber had a bad day today - unfortunate in the 1st corner on his last quali lap, think he will be back on it tomorrow though.

Hopefully its either very changable tomorrow for the race or its very hot so the difference in the tyres comes to the fore

If Jenson doesnt lose a place to LH in the first lap, I think he could get on the podium ( unless a big accident happens in the first few corners, I think McLaren will be lucky to get 3rd and 4th)

I don't think Alonso will expect anything other than a win, so will be hyper aggressive throughout the race.

Ferrari apparently had the retarted ignition qualifying system working for the first time this weekend, so in race trim may show the same slight slowdown in comparative pace to the McLarens - I'd expect Vettel and Alonso to storm off and have their own fight as Massa and Webber act as a buffer for the McLarens as they have their own fight.

That was an interesting qualifying, Schumacher getting kicked out before Q3 and the battle for pole was good. McLaren must be missing something fundamental that Redbull and now Ferrari have got sorted for qualifying, I'm sure they will be a lot faster in the race again so there is potential for some good racing, maybe it's the weekend that Hamilton and Button fall out if there is some contact.

I wondered where my #1 stalker had gone. .welcome back Frank.

I was simply stating facts, namely Lewis hasn't had a great weekend fullstop, no excuses, I never saw him shine much at all, didn't get the most out of practice (Crashed due to his own mistake, and didn't run to many laps after that), and never got much more out of qualifying, I never 'felt' by watching he was getting the most out of the car. Interesting you like to call it an excuse and bring his team mate into it.. Obviously you have this huge axe to grind over and over and over and over and over again, on the false pretence we are somehow making statements to belittle your lover boy.

I think this weekend was Buttons, nice steady pace in practice, and pulled it all together perfectly through quali, when he's like this, he shows why he's a world champion.

I'm sorry if I try to be objective and don't feel the need to cling to a driver as if only 1 driver can be the best ever and must have total allegiance, that's not me.. It's like consoles all bloomin over again..

:)

I think this is the next part for the teams to get working, as I gather it makes the car far more stable off throttle in the corners with the blown diffuser, as it still gives some gas out?

Lol, F1 website error:

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso led Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel in both Q1 and Q2, and again after the first runs in Q3, but on his very last run the German stopped the clocks in 1m 31.791s. And when the dust had settled after the Spaniard had completed his second run he came up just two thousandths of a second short, on 1m 13.793s.

If Alonso gets a good start Vettel is going to try and push him off the track so there's a good chance of a collision between the two, here's hoping. :D

Is pole position on the left?
