German Grand Prix 2011, Nürburgring Circuit - Race 10/19

Stop it. It's too silly.

Renault are bringing an entire new exhaust to Germany. Only Heidfeld will be running it though as Petrov is too heavy. :D

Well, only Heidfeld will be running it of they get through scruiteering tomorrow. :D

I do love the commentary for the practise sessions, the light banter keeps it interesting.
Unless it''s something interesting happening on track, you can pretty much guarantee the topic of conversation will be something completely unrelated. :D

My guess to their "who is the other Renault driver to stand on the podium here" question...
Is it Trulli?

I can't really think of another word for them, but Pirelli are just providing what they were asked for.
I suppose he should have been able to adapt but with these tyres running fine enough and then hitting the magical cliff, it can always go wrong.
Heard him have a moan about the tyres afterwards last time, maybe it was just the typical racing driver excuse.

I'd be happy if we had tyres that easily lasted the whole race and there were no pit-stops. No "slow down, you're wearing the tyres out" commands. No artificial "use both compounds" rule.

It's not a 24hr endurance race...

I mean I'd like tyres that could do the whole race without thought. No management and no stupid 2 compound rule.
Last years tyres were pathetic and I agree, they did do a good job to ruin the racing.

I don't want to be too hard on Ricciardo, the drivers can't get testing done at other times due to rubbish agreement for no in-season testing. If Red Bull are willing to pay* to use your raft-slow car as a test seat for half the season, you might as well. :D

* Red Bull have thrown some money HRTs way for this, right?

Edit: Oops, bit of smoke coming off that Renault as it goes into the pits...
