As has been said, Rosberg pushed Lewis directly off the track. However, since then the rules were clarified to explicitly say that passi g off the track is not allowed, meaning the FIA (correctly) had to be seen to act in this case.Could someone give me an analysis of how Sebs move is different to say that of Hamiltons on Rosberg in Bahrain? He had the option to back off and not go for it...the same as what you are saying Vettel should have done

Very different. Roseberg should have backed off. Hamilton was not gaining an advantage running outside the track and he didn't intend to do that in the first place.
