Car 1 left the track and gained an advantage when he rejoined. Breach of article 20.2 of the FIA Formula 1 sporting regulations," said the stewards.

"Drive-through penalty, imposed after the race in accordance with article 16.3 (20 seconds added to the elapsed race time."

Can't believe the FIA finally make a correct decision.

I'm not saying the situations are identical, just that Hammy overtook fully off the track, which by the rules is illegal, and didn't have to give the place back.

Hamilton didn't overtake fully off track in Bahrain. He was pushed off track, they ran side by side, Hamilton rejoined the track and then passed in the next corner, so he didn't actually gain an advantage (which is what the regulation actually states)

Only effectively a 2 place drop as he'd have been 3rd if he hadn't done that, I'm sure he won't be too annoyed by losing 5 points.

Even 8 isn't massively inconvenient, still 10 more than Hamilton got so it's all good in my eyes

Dissapointed with RGs result, KR did well, lotus loves the sun!
Penalty was a good call.
Enjoyed the race
Enjoyed KR and PD battling
but sad mc are back in front of lotus!

Why does he have to trade with Button - he didnt get 3rd neither

My thoughts on the race:

Great drive from Alonso, was never really challenged it seems and JB probably did the wrong thing of using up his tyres so early in the last stint. SV did well to keep JB honest and its a shame he had to do that illegal overtake, 2nd was his if he had just been a bit smarter...

Race was slightly boring just because of the amount of passes directly due to DRS, especially ones that were caused by drivers coming out of the pits pretty much 1 corner before the activation line allowing any defence coming out of the pits to be fruitless...

I wont say much about LH, but Im coming to the idea that as much as JB is labelled a journeyman; LH is definitely the winner when it comes to moaning, hes like the Stoner of F1. Was there reason for his retirement in the end?

Saving the engine and gearbox (with many going wrong of late) would have been a good enough reason to retire for me. I guess they got some data on the new upgrades.
