German Grand Prix 2014, Hockenheim - Race 10/19

I'm pretty certain that if I used the word Fric on this forum outside of an F1 thread I'd get banned for disguised swearing.

Because I like things being mixed up a bit I'd like a Williams, Ferrari and Mercedes to get on the podium. No particular order. Congratz smr, Bernie is a nice name. :p

This Fric thing is seeming more and more unlikely to affect anyone. Heard from multiple drivers now that over the years Fric has been used that teams have chosen to run it at some tracks and not others. Then Hamilton didn't feel a difference at Silverstone. So to a certain degree Fric is designed to have the connected bit removed because at some tracks it doesn't help and more bits generally speaking means more weight. So sometimes the weight isn't worth the advantage it brings. But it also means that Fric has likely remained the entire time, designed to be disconnected to save a little weight when it's not working great. So most teams can likely disconnect it, by design and even be better at some tracks, a little worse at some also most likely.

and Suzi does a "fast" lap, not really sure what counts as fast yet, good to see the car actually go around the track and finish a fast lap though.

With a few more laps in there, Wolf fourth, with a time currently only 3/10ths down on Massa, a bit under a second down on Mag and Hamilton was only about 2/10ths up after the middle sector before pulling back to make room.

Wasn't too clear, they could obviously have asked Massa to slow down to make her look good but I don't think they did. She wasn't like 3 seconds down on the Merc's or anyone else. I think it looked early on that she wasn't far off Massa's pace, but that the car itself was a second slower.

Ted or the other guy was saying Williams are always up there, but they aren't. Looking at the last three races they are say 0.5-1 seconds down at the shorter tracks and 1-1.5seconds down in fp2 at Silverstone.

It's only FP3 they are "right up there" as I think Ted put it. But that's because FP2 is the real speed test and FP3 is race setup and race pace testing more than anything.
