Germany Christmas Market Attack (Magdeburg)

Seems he got through a gap that was big enough for pedestrians but sadly you could fit a car down, reported on BBC live feed.

They had concrete barriers setup seems an oversight here sadly.

Boy, I bet the usual suspects are going to be confused over this one, an immigrant who is actually a doctor, right wing and anti-(radical)islam?

Is it just another angry right winger who's fallen down the CT rabbit hole?

Allegedly done because he doesn't like how Germans treat immigrants/refugees, if we take his twitter as truth of course.

He was a pro immigration activist it seems.

I'm just saying I'm not sure I would describe an AFD member who is critical of Islam, as a pro immigration activist

Yet he has an actual interview with the BBC as an activist, he posted about killing the public/government because of how immigrants are treated.

I agree with you, but his twitter/interviews are out there in the open with his views and work he's done.

"AfD member"

Obviously can't be 100% sure it's the same man but if it is he's no AfD member.

"I created a website to help people seeking asylum, especially from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region"

At best he might 'admire' their rhetoric in the AfD in contrast to the usual three monkeys approach of many politicians in the west when it comes to the downsides of differing ideologies.

The whole article is still up on the BBC website (for now)

And here

"Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen lives in Germany now – but there was once a time where he lived and worked in Saudi Arabia, and was incapable of safely expressing his atheism.

After successfully seeking asylum in Germany, he decided to set up the website wearesaudis.net to create an information resource for others to do the same.

It’s now a go-to resource for people all over the Arab region – but why are most of the people that approach Taleb for help women?"

This might well be aging like milk....

Maybe another one to add to the '500 dead in a Hamas hospital car park' clanger?
Yeah, you are right

14 months on and hardly any Gazans have died at Israeli hands.

You go on like I was the Sky news reporter who went in air with the news.

It is almost irrelevant what the guy did or did not believe. Just another migrant / asylum seeker / whatever that performs a stupefying act causing mayhem and hurt against utterly innocent victims. It is going to be red rag to a bull for the far-right groups irrespective of beliefs / intentions. Be interesting to understand what made this guy snap and resort to the actions he did.

No idea how you combat such actions. Practical measures like boarding up pedestrians’ areas seems excessive and potentially just normalises such acts. Part of living in a multicultural world or some-such.

What a tragic event, conducted by an incredibly odd person.

Five year old articles? Come on, you'll need to do better than that.

So he's an AFD member?

I'm not sure whether he's a member or not, but that he's a supporter is being reported on German TV by official sources. As are his anti-Islamist views, here's the summary from Der Spiegel (Google translated):

In the meantime, however, he seems to have drifted away in his activism. On his account at X in November, he posted four "demands of liberal Saudi opposition," the first point: "Germany must protect its borders against illegal migration." It has been shown that "the open border policy was a plan of Merkel to Islamize Europe," he wrote in relation to the former Chancellor. In other entries, he openly sympathized with the AfD and dreamed of a joint project with the largely right-wing extremist party: an academy for ex-Muslims. "Who else is fighting Islam in Germany?" he asked.

In a video interview released eight days ago on an anti-Islam US blog A. over 45 minutes of crude theses: The German state is conducting a "covert secret operation" in order to "hunt and destroy their lives worldwide, Saudi Arabian ex-Muslims". At the same time, Syrian jihadists were granted asylum in Germany.

I see a fifth person has now died :(

Yes, I stand corrected

I should have said supporter not "member"
