Gerrard Arrested?

Please keep such comments to yourself as you only look foolish. Liverpool hater or not, he's currently the best midfielder in the Premiership bar none..

Thats debatable to say the least

Well when barton was charged with assault therewas outrage and people saying he should never kick a football again.

Funny how people arent saying the same about gerrard eh? Assault is assault imo regardless of who carried it out.

SG has a very good public image though - something Barton can only dream about (after all the issue you mentioned was the 3rd or 4th time JB had been in a fracas of one kind or another), people in general had had enough of his attitude

I may not like Liverpool (to say the least) as a team - but throwing someone in jail for the long term does more harm than good to first time offenders

IF SG was unquestionably in the wrong (even that is unclear at the moment, baring a little handbags) and started a fight over not having a song played -or whatever the reason - then throw the book at him.....but even I have to regrettably admit it sounds out of charachter

It sounds as if an arguement broke out after the DJ refused to play Phil Collins (:D) and ended up with one of Gerrards mates glassing him.
Dont be silly now, there isnt a judge in liverpool who is going to pass any kind of custodial sentence on our stevie, he wont get anything regardless of what he's done.

:D

:D

why does it sound like on of Gerrards mates did it and not him btw? I have extremely limited internet access currently so can't read any articles.

I personally don't think it sounds like him but we'll just have to see what facts emerge.

If he's found guilty he should be stripped of his MBE, imprisoned immediately and never be allowed to play football again!!!!111, at least for the rest of this season anyway.
He'll get a suspended, fine and a bit of CS at the worst though.

I heard that his defence are claiming that it was self defence as the DJ hit him in the face and knocked him flat out to start with but when Gerrard was questioned on the lack of facial injuries he said that although the DJ swang for him he didn't actually make any contact but he still went sprawling down on the dancefloor as the intent was there and he was making the most of the challenge.

oh god, i know it's bad but the sprawling puts me in mind of him in the penalty area every week ;)

you'd have thought there would have been cctv in the place. Regardless, your call on sentencing sounds about right. Rightly or wrongly we don't use custodial sentences easily. A fine sounds about right. I'd laugh if he got an ASBO.

Subtle JG, Very Subtle

I like it :D

Footballers are thugs, no difference to the guy on the street, cant see him getting sent down surly its a first time offence for him. He will just get CS.

The papers seem to be suggesting the DJ pushed Gerrard and then Gerrards knocked him in the face with his elbow and then walked away at which point his mates have smashed a bottle over the guys head, I can't see him facing any kind of jail time for that especially as this is his first offence.
