Get your Oculus Touch Order pre-order

Technically I believe they have lowered the requirement to USB 2.0 and the sensor will operate in a lower bandwidth mode.

With the third camera the default recomendation is actually to put one camera on USB 2.0 because the USB controller can get overloaded if all three are running through it. Obviously that's hardware dependant, and if you've shoved an extra USB 3.0 card in and split between them then it's irrelevant.

I've been playing with Touch and 2 sensors, and the tracking has been pretty spot on but only within a relatively small area. Still, the ability to walk around within VR is every bit as good as everyone claims so I need more! 3rd sensor is due to arrive later this month. I want 4 sensors really, but this whole USB bandwidth concern from Oculus makes me wonder if 4 is really viable.

Anyone here got 3 or 4 sensors setup already?

Guardian is pretty good, but unfortunately my brain totally tunes it out when I'm immersed in a game. I've jumped into the wall twice, swiped the controller into a door, and fallen over a chair. And that's all within 30minutes of rec room.

Guardian is great for a first pass, and I know it needs to be easy to setup for the great unwashed... but it would be good if they had an optional "advanced" setting where you could do a proper 3D zone.

If you are worried about the bandwidth then I would just go and buy an innatek usb 3.0 PCI card if you have room in your PC - that adds another USB controller. Run two cams off that and one or two cams plus the headset off your mobo's USB 3.0

Be sure to search for Ripcoil (you will see : purchased on it), it doesn't pop in recent/installed etc but it comes with the The Unspoken and VR Sports by default.

Spotted that on the store site. I got it before my codes came through as I had already bought pirate space trainer through the store. Not played it yet, though.

Really impressed with these touch controllers, so far.

I know one will come but waiting for a god like game to come out where you can lean in and pick out characters and objects. I was impressed by that little island on the dreamdeck demo and thought it would be great to see a full game built around something like that.

Has anyone added the third sensor? My desk is quite deep and it slightly obscures the sensor field of view so I loose tracking low down. Wondering if the third sensor would help as well as allowing me to turn around

I've got mine on my desk which is also quite deep so I put the sensors on tri-pods raised high but angled down so that sorts the issue of when you get down low to the floor. I still have a slight problem with occlusion when my back is to the sensors so think I will get a 3rd sensor at some point after Christmas.

Hopefully my 3rd sensor is on the way. I got the order processed and invoice emails from Oculus a couple of days ago, but nothing from UPS as yet. I'll update with results when I have it.

I've ordered the third sensor now too, may look at wall mount options for the front sensors but I don't like having cables running down the walls otherwise I would have bought a vive in the first place!

My order has been processed!! :) Hopefully that means it will be here some time next week!!

Just got an update, it will be here on Wednesday.

Just got the Touch controllers. Having a blast at the moment. VR sports is great fun. And the touch introduction was really well done. Haven't tried anything else yet.

so far I am after smashing my controllers off a wall and breaking an overhead light. Just brilliant!! :)

I've got the 3rd sensor setup now. For some reason the 3rd sensor operates on USB 2.0 even if it's plugged directly into a USB 3.0 port (the included extension is USB 2.0, but I'm not using it).

I haven't really followed the Oculus setup guide. My sensors are mounted kind of at the corners of my almost 3mx3m playspace, relatively high, pointing inwards and downwards. Tracking is pretty much flawless from all angles, including ground level and the height of my reach.

Still thinking I'll get a forth sensor to expand my space across the room further, but I'm not in a big hurry as I don't have a working extension on the HDMI cable yet and that's more restrictive than the sensors.

Going to have to build up my VR legs again. After an hour I have to take rest.

I will also be buying another sensor. In my room it's been hard to get a good position for both sensors.

I placed an order for a 3rd sensor on the 12th and had a delivery window between 13-20th of December. Anyway got an email this morning stating that they have had to push back the delivery window to the 21st - 30th due to high demand. Not fussed it's been delayed though, happy to wait as only playing Oculus Home games at the moment anyway. Keeping the SteamVR room scale games for when the 3rd sensor finally arrives.

Looks like a lot of people want to go for the best room scale experience as possible though, must tell them there is a demand for it rather than just front facing only camera experiences. :)
