Getting the most from the Lunar Eclipse!?

Nice shots SDK.

I really really really really really need a telephoto right now. 70mm really isn't long enough.

well this is my try from today.

with friends Nikon D50 + Nikkor 18-70

Baby Eclipse! :D

Only got home from work just after midnight but managed to grab a couple of shots. I used my 170-500 which is next to impossible to eliminate camera shake on particularly with long exposures but this one isn't too bad.

In comparison I got this one sometime last year with the same lens but with my old D50.

SDK by far the best so far.

bring on the next eclipse in August, we shall see! :D

Damn right, going to have to source a converter from somewhere, even 10.7x on my camera was too small :(

Some fantastic shots in here and in the GD thread, but I cant help but wonder if we should be doing something better on a Saturday night :D

My moon compilation effort, despite being at a party and on a S5600, pretty good I think :p

Just wish I had a tripod to take pictures of the red stage, anything I took was either too dark or too blurred. Note to self, buy tripod.

how do you make those montages? Ive tried copying my moon out of a picture in photoshop and pasting it in to a new image, but the moon is super tiny

Amazing shots guys, as i was out and didn’t have my 400D with me i don’t think the basic default lenses would have hacked that anyway :D keep up the amazing images

Antc - As im an utter noobie with this camera atm (not really gotten in to it yet as im waiting for better weather) can the 400D achieve the same shot you did? what equipment would i need to invest in?

Bah, I was quite proud of mine till I saw all of yours :(. I think I went for too narrow aperture / long exposure - most of mine ended up pretty soft. Very nice work guys!
