Ghost of Tsushima - directors cut

Lighting is grand and the reflections are actually very good (some of the best I've seen with likes of rdr 2), however.......... the shadows are absolutely awful, just hard/sharp and not diffused at all, it's the one game where RT shadows would be an incredible showcase.

Patch 4 out now too. Any updates people?

  • Updated PlayStation PC SDK to version 2.5 with support for processors that lack AVX2 instructions.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause facial textures to be displayed incorrectly when running out of video memory.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause shadows to appear smeared for a few frames.
  • The gyro functionality of controllers can now also be used when Steam Input is enabled.
  • Stability improvements to AMD FSR Frame Generation.
  • Various stability improvements.
  • Various user interface bug fixes.

downloading the now,. any tips , tweaks?
Personally found that this game is great on the hardest difficulty, as you can die in a couple hits that feels a bit more realistic to me. Also it makes the combat more tactical and engaging.
Still fairly early on and managing okay at this setting and felt it was the right way to play for me.

Yeah i saw that - just wondered if people had noticed a difference IRL

So i have way too many game on the go or planned right now but GOT is one i always plan to buy but ive gone greedy in my old age and cannot play games that end when the credits roll, if i enjoy a game i want something to grind out so heres my question .
Is there any form of endgame content or repeatable content to grind?

No,not really, unless there is something in the Legends mode (which I never bothered with).

After finishing the main quest and DLC, I just have a few side quests that I could finish if I wanted to, and the few remaining question marks on the map/haiku sites/DLC shrines left. You can choose to replay boss duels or town liberations, and you could go into NG+ but other than that I didn't find anything to keep me engaged after the credits rolled.

The Legends mode was actually pretty decent addition from what I remember, characters and skills get split into different classes and you level them up and obtain/craft gear with better stats. There were story missions, a survival mode and challenges for 2-4 players, you could definitely get a good amount of extra time from it if you enjoyed it.

The main game itself I felt was set up much better than the usual Assassins Creed style stuff, minimal UI and map clutter with a bit more emphasis on you doing the actual exploring rather than just being bombarded all at once with points of interest to tick off.

I'm going to have to try this out, I was enjoying Sekiro for a while but I don't think I have the resilience to keep at it!

Is Tsushima a bit more manageable?

Deffo yes.

I gave up on Sekiro a while ago (hope I can get back into it), but not sure I have the patience these days to master such games, but GoT I find easier to get I to, the combat isn't as demanding.

That's good to know. I think my 1070ti should still manage it at 1440p, will have to see if I can get in running at 4k on the tv

Is anyone using DLSSTweaks in this game? I can't get it to work @mrk

Edit: Nvmd found the fix.

"If you want to get DLSSTweaks working on Ghost of Tsushima, you need to do it in the old way by renaming nvngx.dll to dxgi.dll.

Everything should work fine afterward and the log file will be created."

I've done 5 or 6 playthroughs in Sekiro, with GoT I've only done one. I enjoyed it, but the game is more shallow on all counts - not just combat, but art, setting, characters, music, etc. Sekiro is one of the highlights of my gaming life so far, the final boss' "Hesitation is defeat" has been etched into my brain forever :)

I got all the way to the final boss on Sekiro and gave up.

No difference to a lot of souls like games in dealing with these kind of things.

The way I did it in sekiro (same for elden ring) was to farm skills points and go and find any items you may have missed that would make the fight easier.

In sekiro's case I just farmed skill points until I was strong enough to finish the last boss.

I had beaten every other boss and mini boss and had every health upgrade.
