Ghost of Tsushima - directors cut

I picked up my 2080ti just last year on the MM and looking at these requirements I'm glad I did I'd be sitting in the around the 720p-1080p with middling fps

Still looking forward to getting to play this when it drops

I don't get how a PS4 game can have these kind of requirements. PS4 was launched in 2013, so it's contemporary to the then top of the range Nvidia GTX780ti (which was probably more powerful). The graphics in GoT are not really better than Dark Souls 3, or Sekiro, or RDR2... Will still buy it of course, but had to get this rant off my chest :)

I've not played Ratchet and Clank, but did play DS3, Sekiro and RDR2. These were all improved compared to PS4 too, but their PC reqs were nowhere near GoT. And by "improved" I mean somewhat improved, "order of magnitude" is a Demon SoulsPS3 to PS5 change, neither PS4 game was improved that much for the pc.

Sorry I don't understand the issue, why not create a Sony account, it's free so problem solved?

This isn't about "just create an account", this is about Sony yet again saying "Thank you for paying for this game..............oh by the way, here's a bunch of new requirements that we didn't tell you about before you bought the game and if you don't like it, well tough, we've got your money now..........................oh thats given us tons of Bad PR, I suppose we'd best refund folks then" with this exact story coming days after they did JUST did this exact same thing to Helldivers 2 (which has been all over the gaming media for weeks now) making this yet another huge story even outside of just the gaming media (as shown in the Forbes link) for those who want to spend 30 seconds reading the news story posted above first which you obviously didn't.

That makes me wonder why, if you knew nothing about this before, and you clearly didn't want to find out anything after reading my post, did you decide to chip in with a defence of a multi-million dollar company over the fans who'd lost out?

Sorry if that sounds harsh but maybe read things and understand the full situation first?

too much hassle when I'm paying for something.
Play so few Sony games that creating an account just becomes a liability

Clearly not needed other than for harvesting data and I don't care about cross play coop with console peasants

I do wonder if this is setting up for something further down the line given that they want to expand into the Pc space.

I wouldn't be surprised if they followed others and came out with their own dedicated launcher & store further down the line, with everything just redirecting through that.

My guess is this.
The gaming landscape has shifted and Sony are trying to adapt to it.
