Gibbo ETA for 3900x?

I use an AIO because it is quiter and looks way better.
I am under no illusion that it cools better than a high end air cooler.
Of course! It wasnt an attackper se on AIO's, I think my AIO looks great, makes it look cleaner build than when I had my huge Dark Rock Pro 3 I had lol. Mines not really any quieter though, due to lack of airflow in the room, all despite having 3 120mm fans intake and 3 exhaust I have to have the fans ramped up at the moment due to the heatwave, but that doesnt bother me as Im a headphone user lol

Looks like a drought everywhere...:(
I don’t understand it. How can you do a cpu launch with an initial supply of a few thousand without ensuring you can provide more throughout the following weeks?

It’s really weird, and stupid. PC gamer are reporting that it is selling on eBay for nigh on a thousand dollars? Have to admit, if someone offered me a grand for mine, I’d be seriously tempted.

Well you say that as if there's an infinite stack somewhere and it's just a case of giving someone a bigger shovel.

Even if you do expect high demand, what really can you do about it if the demand, especially initial demand is impossible for your production to fulfil. Unless there's a huge error somewhere it's just the consumer sucking too hard on the teat and not understanding why it can't come out any faster.

Perhaps AMD miscalculated the demand. That would be a shock if they did knowing how well the chips performed.

It's like a weird paper launch where you actually launch the chips but can only make 5 a week when a million are needed.

I must say I'm glad I bought early.

I will speculate these are slow to produce, and they perhaps were manufacturing for several months before launch to get the initial supply.

Either that or they anticipated low demand (odd as all tech companies consistently keep making this so called mistake time and time again) and may have wound down factories etc.

If it doesnt come next week, Im going to cancel the order and just wait for the 3950X especially if the above mid to end of August estimate is true to form.

Hopefully OCUK will let me keep the price of all the other items I ordered minus the CPU so I can keep the discounts I found.

I can at least plan and form my loop, X570 Aorus Master motherboard should still be plenty good for 3950X

It is released in September, and judging by 3900X I'd expect similar stock supply issues potentially and thus probably not good supply until October.

Oh of course, I mean order on day one or "pre order" that as soon as possible so Id hopefully be in the first lot of purchases, which I should have done for the 3900X lol.

Thanks for keeping us in the know though.

What happens with the other items on these orders that are stuck waiting for the CPU? I see from current stock levels that my case is now out of stock. Was this reserved for me at the time of the order, or when the CPU comes in do I then have to wait for the other out of stock components to come back in stock?

This is what I wondered too and asked them on the phone. The reply was a less than convincing "We'll have plenty of stock of those by that time so it won't matter". I cancelled everything on my order apart from the cpu (hopefully will retain place in the "queue") and ordered separately when the other parts came back in stock. Some price savings too so didn't lose out due to multiple delivery costs.

Unfortunately our system does not reserve stock.

Yes your place in the queue is maintained as your order number remains the same.

So now I could be having to wait further, I got told on the phone my items were put aside.

So FANATASTIC might just cancel this 3 grand order now.

With no rhyme or reason to why you cannot split an order when part paid with paypal, Im utterly fuming now as my case is out of stock.

Man child rant over, I've been assured on the phone that if the item is paid for, the items will be retained in stock and Paypal is the issue in regards to splitting orders and if they could, they would.

I was advised the same regarding my order which has a number of other parts on it.

When I placed the order all the parts were showing in stock apart from the 3900X.

I called them too as one of my items product codes isnt even listed any more. I was assured that the case is "allocated" and is fine. The GFX card which is now EOL and not listed on the website has been switched to another product.

At least we are all getting the same message, must be crossed wires somewhere in what was asked.

I would expect if you have already paid for the items they should hold them back.

As for the EOL product did you get a good exchange of products?
